Oh we were very unhappy. First of all, the place was nothing like what we thought it would be. Instead of a suite, it looked more like an old renovated apartment; but we figured "now that we're here, we'll just make the most of it." But once we looked around inside the room, things got worse. I mean, cleanliness is where I draw the line. The carpet was filthy, floor, dirty; and the bathroom definitely could have been cleaned better (particularly the tub). The television remote control didn't work, the coffee pot was dirty. I was very uncomfortable in the room. Also, there was a big garbage bin outside, overflowing with garbage a few doors down from our room. But even worse, on the second day of our stay, we returned from the theme park to find that they didn't come to clean our room at all. When we went to the office to complain and request clean towels to use in the morning, they only had one set available for our family of three! I (almost 5 months pregnant, at the time) had to split the washcloth and other two towels with my husband and son. It was incredible! We never expected to stay in such a dump. We just assumed that since the place carried the Howard Johnson name that it HAD to be decent. We travel regularly - my husband travels several times throughout the year - but we have no plans of ever staying at anything with Howard Johnson's name on it again (there are too many other hotels out there to choose from!), and we are definitely warning our family, friends, and aqaintances!
