According to its website this is "the only full-service hotel in Griffin." If this is full service, I would be afraid to see what other hotels in the area are like. A colleague of mine stayed here for the October 2004 Nascar race.
Problems:
1. Upon arrival, no working remote. He told the front desk and personnel immediately replaced it.
2. No ashtray in smoking room. He told the front desk and he ended up being without an ashtray for his entire stay.
3. Walked into the bathroom the first night and it was infested with ants. He told the front desk and they immediately moved him to another room.
4. In new room, left $2 tip on bed for housekeeping and when he arrived back later that night, he found that the $2 had been taken, but the room was not clean. He told the front desk and they gave him some BS excuse that they had not had a chance to finish the room (even though it was 7:00 pm). He simply requested some clean towels, of which he said were "stained" and "disgusting."
5. In new room, he ran his hand underneath the mattress to tuck sheets in and found three bags of marijuana. He immediately threw them away.
6. On the morning of his last day in Griffin, he remembered that he left his i-Pod charger in his old room. He called the hotel on the way to the track and kindly asked the front desk to check the room, as he was leaving that morning. She would not and told him he would have to wait until housekeeping got to the room. He insisted on speaking to the manager, who was "unavailable," and requested repeatedly that the woman get in touch with him. In the end, she hung up on him. After calling back numerous times, front desk did tell him that they had located his charger, but not after threatening to call police to have him arrested for harrassment, for simply requesting to speak to the manager.
I contaced the manager to request that I be refunded in full for the terrible conditions and customer service and he asked why my colleague didn't check-out and move to another hotel if he was so unhappy. Well, since it was a Nascar weekend, that would have proved to be quite difficult, as hotels sell out months in advance. (This is the kind of man I was dealing with.) I have a problem with a Manager who tells me my colleague needs to switch hotels in order to be happy and receive good customer service at a clean, comfortable hotel.
Consider yourself warned... do NOT stay here at all costs!
