“Grand property”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

Very cozy and serene property with lake front. The place takes you back to 1800's with its decor and wooden work. Very warm staff and a great drive from the airport (ATL) with nature all around you. The hotel also have a great speed boat for a ride on the lake. Overall great experience

Stayed here for 2 nights while attending a training event with work. Great setting, excellent rooms and service, everything you would expect from a Ritz-Carlton. I didn't pick up the tab but the prices were fairly eye watering for incidentals like drinks and food. We went to the "Linger Longer" steakhouse. I had a 9oz filet with 2 sides and 2 beers, no appetizer or dessert and the bill with tip was $84. Mixed drinks at the bar were $12 plus for basics like JD. But it's a Ritz-Carlton so you expect it to be expensive. At least the wi-fi was free.

Had to attend a training function for work and this was our place to stay for two days. Very helpful staff and the accommodations were fabulous. Didn't eat at the on-site restaurants, but was told they were good by people who did. The room I had was spacious, clean, and had a great view of the pool area as well as the lake, and had the weather been a little warmer I would have enjoyed the balcony.

Attentive staff who looked after all my needs. Excellent restaurants on site. Room was spacious and clean. Lake view rooms are an added plus to a great resort. I was able to have a great stay and even enjoy some leisure time because of their attention to detail.

The Ritz itself is nice. It's an unusual architecture from what I usually experience from Ritz. The great timbered hall is interesting and welcoming. We visited in the winter, so there was always a roaring fire, hot apple cider, plus the nice music and comfy seating made for a good place to hang out. The staff was excellent in all areas of the hotel. The bed, room & bathroom were comfortable and nicely done. We were unable to do any swimming or boating, but had not planned to do so. We walked along the lake and it was lovely & quiet. We did not use the spa or gym or outdoor ice skating rink. The food and atmosphere in Georgia's restaurant were perfect w plenty of choices for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.

We used our AMEX 'fine hotel & resorts' membership to get $100 resort credit, free breakfasts, and a room upgrade. It still cost $968 for two nights after daily parking fee, taxes, an in room movie, 2 dinners, and 9 holes of golf for one player. Had we really jumped in with both feet and had done spa and lake activites, and another day of golf, I shutter to think what it would have cost.

We visited Madison, GA for a few hours, had a cup of coffee, and enjoyed the quaint town. Athens isn't too far either. Good side trips....

My husband did a club fitting at The Kingdom by Titleist. He was very pleased and ordered clubs that will bill to our home golf club, and drop-ship to our house. He got a lot of value from the intensive launch monitor system they have, and learned some things about his positioning that no other fittings have mentioned. He's a serious golfer and was well pleased.

And speaking of golf, the surrounding neighborhoods are nicely built and there are multiple golf courses to play, but none of the courses are self-contained so fairways are surrounded by homes, which is disappointing. It looks like Anytown, USA when you're out on the course, which was extremely disappointing.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the lake!

Stay hear several times a yr. I highly recommend a stay on this property. Beautiful grounds, wonderful spa and the heated lakeside pool is wonderful. Service impeccable. Try the Christmas weekends with ice skating, Santa brunch and gingerbread house.

Room Tip: Ask for lake view

We spent the weekend at The Ritz Carlton Reynold Plantation due to its short distance from Atlanta, GA. We loved the room, the train ride for kids, the bike path, the infinity pool & literally swimming with fishes in the lake. We loved our stay so much that we returned for another weekend to celebrate my daughter's birthday and the property was so thoughtful in giving us a cake. We will definitely return to celebrate more milestones in this property.
