“Old fashioned customer service and a servant's heart!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

Had such a wonderful stay at The Inn At Folkston and were spoiled by Ted and Alise! The Inn is such a warm and wonderful place to stay and truly helps relax your spirit along with your body. I highly recommend staying here is you are longing for an old fashioned stay in a place where a hot and fresh breakfast is your greeting in the morning and a friendly smile greets you every time you walk in the door. Woke up one morning with some aches and pains from my disability and Ted went out of his way to make me comfortable, brought me coffee and Alise set me up in the reclining chair. It really helped me get through a difficult time and truly feel better.
Ted and Alise and their sweet daughter, truly want to offer your their servants heart and we will return to visit soon!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Folkston Funnel room which is handicapped accessible with a shower chair and a hand...

My wife and I stayed here while on our trip to Okefenokee. The owners were very friendly, the rooms clean and nicely decorated, and the breakfast was wonderful. They're located just on the edge of town in a very quiet area, and very close to the refuge.
Ask for directions to the restaurant with frog legs and catfish, it's just a few blocks away.

Ted and Alease have made this B & B into a very warm and cozy place to stay. Wonderful rooms, great breakfast, yummy chocolate coco, and only a few min. walk from the rail road viewing platform and downtown Folkston.

Great service and very very clean rooms. A return visit is planned it was that nice.
The breakfast was in plentiful supply and was more than enough to keep us going all day.
Superb location for the rail fan only a short walk from the rail viewing platform in downtown Folkston.

If you are going to visit Folkston or neighborhood you must stay here. Everything is perfect. Ted and Alyse are very kind and helpful. Rooms are clean and cosy. Homemade breakfasts are delicious. If you are a rail fan (like me) you will like The Inn at Folkston because it is quite close to tracks (5 mins on foot).

The Innkeepers, Ted and Alyse, are the perfect hosts. The accommodations are comfortable, the town is extremely friendly, and the breakfasts were all delicious. We brought our 4 year old son who enjoyed the stay. The Inn was family friendly and accommodating.

We stayed at the Inn and spent a day at Okefenokee Adventures, the east entrance to the swamp. There we hired an evening 4 hour guided tour of the swamp that allowed for daylight exploration followed by an hour in the dark. I'd highly recommend. The following day we drove to the west entrance, Stephen C. Foster State Park, and rented a motorboat for a self guided 3-4 hour day on the swamp, also a great time.

Other guests were in Folkston for train watching which is another big draw to the town. A train passes through every 30 minutes. The tracks are close enough to walk but far enough that they didn't disturb our sleep.

Room Tip: The "Family Room" has a queen, a double, and a private bath. It was perfect for our 3 pers...

The Inn at Folkston was a terrific base for visiting the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge last week. The comfortable and private room included an en suite bathroom, cozy chairs and good reading lamps. The house features charming architecture, a very large porch and a comprehensive list of nearby restaurant options. Hummingbirds flew throughout the gardens, which I was pleased to learn are certified as a wildlife habitat by NWF. Ted, the innkeeper, kindly held out a lantern to help me locate the inn when I arrived later than planned on the first night and also prepared a take-out breakfast to facilitate my timely arrival to the refuge the next morning for a day of excellent paddling with Okefenokee Adventures. Ted and his wife and staff facilitated a quiet and comfortable stay that made the excursion to the nearby swamp, and a later visit to the Folkston train funnel for a stretch of trainspotting, all the more pleasant.
