Stayed there with my young daughter to go to the Towers. The welcome could not have been warmer. The rooms were immaculate and so welcoming. Liz and the terriers were completely relaxed and couldn't have been more accomodating. Stayed in the superbly converted stables and BBQ'd in their purpose built BBQ area. Nothing was too much trouble for Liz and she put our wine in her fridge. Breakfast next morning was hot, ample and delicious. Would definitely stay there again, for longer next time. Perfectly situated at the back entrance to the Towers.

Visited with friends who had been before and it completely lived up to their recommendations. A fantastic welcome from Liz and the dogs. Nothing was too much trouble (even horse mad children (and mums) are catered for!). We stayed in one of the family rooms which was spacious and spotless, the shower was the best I've ever been in. Barely saw our 8 yr old daughter who thoroughly enjoyed the freedom to explore, her only complaint was having to leave. Had a lovely BBQ on the veranda, even the sun came out for us. Walked to Alton Towers, road was very busy and I did wonder if we'd done the right thing with 3 small children in tow, should have read these reviews first and would have known to use the trade entrance. The only downside was that we only booked for one night and could have happily stayed much longer. Hope to be back for longer next year.

My husband and I were visiting Alton Towers with friends and I found details of Chained Oak online and thought it looked a nice place to stay. We arrived and I was wrong, it was wonderful! We were welcomed by very protective, but cute, Chad and his crew (dogs) and Liz showed us to our rooms after a long day at the theme park. The rooms were very clean and well presented. Liz offered us to be able to use her fridge for our beverages (beer and wine of course) and also welcomed another couple traveling with us, but staying at the Splash Landings, to join us for the evening. We were most pleased when arriving back from the theme park on the 2nd day to find that Liz had kindly laid out the barbeque and laid the table with all we needed for our dinner. Breakfast is excellent, using eggs laid that day! I cannot say enough good things about this lovely place to stay and what tops the bill for me is that our host was so accomodating she made us feel so welcome. We have all decided to do our trip again next year and we will definitely be staying at Chained Oak!!!

Sometimes you stumble across a place and can't believe you were so lucky! We arrived at the Chained Oak and had a really warm welcome from the owners. They showed us to our lovely, warm, clean room. The beds are really comfy.

We went for a walk through the woods down to the chained oak. The bluebells were out and it was one of the most idyllic scenes I have ever seen. I could easily spend a week here.

The shower alone is worth the trip!

Brilliant location for Alton Towers and the Peak District.

We wanted to stay very close to Alton Towers, this B and B is about a 10 minute walk from Alton Towers. To park in Alton towers is an additional cost of £10 so this B and B was perfect for us. The main road is a very busy road, there is a path from the B and B via the field (but dont be put of by this).
We booked a double room for 1 night. very good vale for money.
On arrival staff were very helpfull and friendly.
Our room was in the converted barn/stables. The apperence of the room was very nice, and was spotless. it had what you need - tv, tea/coffee faclites.
Breakfast was promt. Lot of variety - full english breakfast, cereal, fruit.
We would recommend this B and B and we will return there if we go to the theme park in the furture.

Lovely B&B, with a really personal, helpful and friendly service. The room was spotlessly clean, and very cosey. The breakfast really set us up for the day. Location is within sight of the Oblivion ride at Alton Towers (you can hear the screams until the leaves come out on the trees apparently), and if you don't mind a walk across the field and a quick jump over a fence, you don't need to park at the park as the owner is happy for you to leave your car on check out day.

Good value for money in my opinion, and an ideal base.

My Husband and I stayed for 2 nights with my stepson so we could visit Alton Towers for an Easter Treat.

On arrival we had a really nice welcome and shown to our room, we had the last room in the stable block nearest to the outside dining area and this was perfect for us.

The room was spotless with fantastic views, the decor and the bedding was fresh and the bathroom was huge with just the most indulgent power shower ever!.

We all had a cooked breakfast cooked to perfection and this kept us going all day at Alton Towers.
On our arrival back to the Farm we were kindly offered the use of the facilities to dry our clothes as it had rained all day and we were all soaked through. I was really impressed and thankful for this offer.

We loved the fact that my Husbands little boy could run around in a safe enviroment and we could watch him play with the dogs and feed the ducks. It was just the most relaxing and most enjoyable stay.

Thank's to all at the Farm for the accommodation and fantastic food we really could not fault a thing and hope if we cant visit again in 2009 we will be back 2010 for another visit.
