We have just returned from a two night stay at Farley cottage for a two day visit to Alton Towers.
The cottage is an idylic place to stay in a very beautiful part of the country. Its location to Alton is absolutely perfect, with the park entrance literally a couple of minutes walk away (check out google maps street view, look at the cottage then rotate around, you will see Alton towers on the other side of the road!)
Inside the cottage you enter the entrance hall which leads into a lovely country kitchen/diner and attached lounge area leading to a hallway to the brand new bath room and stairs to the bedroom. The bedroom was an excellent size and extremely comfortable with extra blankets etc for us southern fairies! The bedroom had a good size double bed and a single bed with another single bed available.
Laura the owner is the most welcoming, helpful and friendly host you could wish to meet. Its true there is only Microwave facilities available for cooking, but when Laura offers to cook your food for you, there is certainly no complaint! I highly recommend you take up her offer of a fry up, mmmmmmmm, lovely! Laura also offered to get my Dad (who is from these parts and wasnt even with us) Oat cakes and Wrights Pies from the local shops to take home with us! She is sooooo lovely! Nothing was too much trouble.
All in all a very enjoyable stress free stay, will and already have recommended to others and will definately be back.
