“Great Sandwiches and groceries”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

My wife and I just moved into the Dunwoody area, so we checked out the E 48th Street Market. The food served through the restaurant was great -- fairly inexpensive and tasty. The house red wine was very good for being just a "house" wine.

More to the point, the grocery portion of the market is excellent. If you live in the area and want authentic Italian foods, oils, vinegar, salami, etc., then this is the place to go.

“Interesting local spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Atlanta, especially the "burbs" is not known for "ethnic flavor" in food or restaurant choices; E 48th brings some "color" to the local drab. More a market than restaurant, there are many choices of cold cuts and cheeses with some fresh baked items as well. Sandwich is good, but if you're looking for a "NY Style" portion you'd better head back to NY; otherwise a unique and interesting experience in the Deep South.

“Wonderful store and deli”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

More a small Italian market than a "restaurant," the food is wonderful. They have sandwiches and soups, entrees...nothing fancy, but always fresh and always tasty. The breads are wonderful and the sandwiches are simple, but perfect.

“Everything is outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I have been coming here for years. This family owned eating place is an Italian Grocery Store that serves fantastic sandwiches and other hot foods and pastries . Walk in and go to the back counter. You'll see a giant menu board. Pick any meal or sandwich; I've never had a bad one, although my favorites are Italian beef or prosciutto with mozzarella and peppers. Then pick up some Italian groceries or wine that you can only get here. A cannoli for desert is fantastic, fresh and crispy. Then pay for it all at the front counter and take a seat inside or on the enclosed porch. In a few minutes out comes your wrapped sandwich that will be bigger than you thought it would be. Buon Appetito !!
