“Don't plan on sleeping in”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

I was awoken by Housekeeping at 9:30am even though I had put out the don't disturb sign the night before. The maid said there wasn't any sign and then she reached into here cart and put the sign back on the door. Since it was Thanksgiving I am sure she was ready to get off early. The "breakfast was the usual Comfort in fare. The heat up round egg patties and pasty sausage patties. The pastries were a joke and the juices were either to strong or watered down. The rooms are okay but the TV's are from the 90's but the location is great, right across the street from a good seafood place and really good Chinese buffet. To top it off front desk thought I needed a reminder call at 10:30 to see if I was leaving. Checkout was at 11 so why would they bother you before that. unless they wanted to get rid of you? I am a choice elite gold member, but with treatment like this I may not make it to elite platinum. There is a Holiday Inn express next door I have stayed at that is waaaay better. Oh and after 8 am the floor was like a school yard with people hollering and shouting in the hall. If your an early riser...like 7 or 8 it is okay as the bed and room was nice, but don't count on the breakfast or trying to sleep in

I booked this room for two nights when in town for business. To be honest, the price was really competitive. But I expected more from Comfort Suites. The whole building and rooms are outdated. But most everything can be updated with some simple touch ups. Let me list by pros and cons.

PROS:
- price
- big rooms
- ok breakfast
- has amenities
- comfy bed

CONS:
- staff was not very accommodating, had to wait while front desk staff chatted with other staff.
- outdated!
- bathroom was not clean. I grew up in the motel business and noticed that showers and toilet were not cleaned.
- old and musty smell in the whole building
- banged up furniture
- barely functioning business center (decided to check in at the airport the computer was so slow.
- rusty bathroom finishings
- gym equipment was in pretty bad shape
- old bulb tvs that made high pitched noise

Basically, you can tell the management does the BARE minimum to stay in the franchise. The place would be a whole lot better and would be able to charge a bit more if they changed the nasty old carpet, painted the walls, bought new furniture (not from a used hotel furniture broker), focused on higher cleaning standards and just did a bit more than the bare minimum. If you're on a budget, this place is ok. If you spend a bit more, there are a lot of choices that would be better.

Nothing to recommend here. There are much better choices all around this area if you look harder. My room was stuffy and outdated. It seemed clean enough but everything was dog eared. The breakfast area in the lobby is extremely small and uncomfortable. The price per room night is the lowest around but you get waht you pay for.

Very friendly staff, the whole facility was very clean, hot breakfast was great, very accomidating, even a perfect gym to use. Clearly the best price for this quality of a hotel. Close to great food, shopping and highway. Recomend to all for buisiness or family.

Having Stayed at many Comfort Suites Our expectations were High. It just did not meet those expectations.
*The Good:
Our room was clean, beds were clean, bathroom was clean but you could tell the maintenance workers did there work half-heartedly. Front desk was nice and helpful.
*The Bad:
The pool was disgusting, there was trash and bugs all through it. The area around the pool was covered with cigarette butts. The shower curtain in our bathroom couldn't close and refused to move past the middle of the rod on both ends, there was no point even trying to close it because the screws holding the rod in place were coming out of the wall. The worst part was early in the morning housekeeping was doing laundry and the washing machine was so loud it sounded like there was a helicopter in our room and the wall was shaking violently because of it. We wanted to sleep in but it was ruined because of that. We stayed in room 127.

Room Tip: Don't stay in rooms near "employee only" rooms because of early morning washing machin...

Excellent room condition, staff members were very helpful and addressed to problem ( minor one - malfunctioning tv) promptly. Convenient location, will certainly recommend this hotel and will book again if needed.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT....SHOULD HAVE READ REVIEWS BEFORE TRAVELING!!
SHAME ON YOU, CHOICE HOTELS, FOR ALLOWING THIS HOTEL TO CONDUCT BUSINESS IN THE MANNER!!!!
The customer service in this hotel was absolutely HORRIBLE!!! It took over 20 minutes to check in which has never happened to us and we are Choice Privileges members and use the Choice brand hotels every time we travel. The phone in our room starting ringing at 4:00 am...the problem is that we did not request a wake-up call. When it continued to ring, my husband got dressed and walked down to the front desk only to find no one there! After waiting a while, the clerk finally came out to assist, but was clueless and acted as if she didn't care! My husband requested the manager, but of course, he wasn't going to be in until Monday.
The room smelled heavily of some sort of freshener and it was literally overwhelming...don't know what they were trying to cover up. The bathroom was not clean and had missing tiles. The breakfast area in the morning was not serviced by an attendant and was completely filthy and unkept....and NO COFFEE made and this was at 9:30 am! To top it off, the high-speed internet was anything but!! When my husband called the front desk to inquire about it, this is what the clerk said..."yeah...'ya gotta bring yo laptop and sit at the corner of the lobby...then yo can get it."
Oh.....and the wake-up call??....We found out later that the wake-up call for that particular room had been set two days prior to our stay and was never cancelled.
We have never had such a bad experience with a Choice hotel....we will never, ever stay at this Atlanta area hotel again.
