Choosing a restaurant for lunch, we were crossed between Marlow's and Arena Tavern, we chose Marlow's. Walking into the restaurant for a late lunch around 3pm on a Saturday, they were not busy. Very classy atmosphere to the place almost like a cross between Bonefish Grill and Taco Mac. Honestly, a great first impression. Then the illusion faded quickly as our server delivered menu options.
The food was overpriced for the service, with no alcohol and three burgers, the bill came out to a little over $15/person. For lunch this is expensive, but for the poor service even worse. Our server would deliberately avoid coming back to our table and doing her job. She would walk in the opposite direction after leaving a different table everytime. The managers went on lunch and sat down in the booth behind us around 4pm and she would occassionaly mingle with them until she grabbed herself something to eat as we watched her eat behind her managers booth. Which is fine except she did not comeback to our table to check up in nearly 15 minutes at that point. My wife had to get up and ask for some more dipping sauce.
All in all I would not plan to go there again. My wife and I are extremely disappointed in the turnout. It feels like the restaurant was attempting to create an Atlanta Tavern atmosphere, but lacking the staff to pull it off. I would have rated this a "1 star" but the food was flavorful. Giving the pricing of the food, lack of service, and overall time that my wife and I spent has led me to this rating. I just hope this restaurant understands you can buy a burger from anywhere, get a drink from anywhere, I will be doing this in the future.
