“Great location for concert at Gwinnett Arena”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2011

Simple, clean, no frills hotel with easy access to events at the Arena at Gwinnett.
Very short, straight drive to the arena.
Free breakfast, although I didn't take advantage of it.

And, if your event turns into a late night, you have the Waffle House within walking distance : )

This visit not so rushed had time to notice several things. Hotel needs a deep cleaning – elevator & hallway carpets stained, curtains & spreads need laundering. Sheet would not stay on mattress. Side entrance did not lock. Breakfast items not being restocked, male employee was too busy blabbing.

Hotel was fine for an overnight lodging on the way to somewhere. We noticed mold on the celing as we lay down in bed for the night. It seemed the room might need a little deep cleaning even though it had nice floor, bedding etc.

The biggest plus is the beds are great at LaQuinta.

We stayed at the La Quinta with our two dogs - no pet fee, just sign an agreement that you won't leave them alone, etc. We saw several other people there with dogs. The hotel was very accommodating and even had our room keys ready in advance - and had already placed our rollaway bed in the room for us. Our two complaints were that they only had one extra pillow on hand when we asked, and most of the fitness center equipment was broken. Breakfast was pretty good - included make your own waffles, eggs (powdered), cereal, bacon, sausage, yogurt, etc. It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit (other than bananas). Would stay again, particularly with the dogs.

In town for son's wedding - stayed 3 nights - room was clean with plenty of towels. Excellent continental breakfast. Would have used the outdoor pool If I had remembered to bring my suit. Specifically looked for a pet friendly hotel so that I could bring my 2 chihuahua's. Put the do not disturb sign on the door and yet found a clean bag of towels every day. I would stay at this location again.

A friend and I stayed here for 2 nights in early December while attending a dog obedience trial at the nearby Atlanta Obedience Club. We each had our own rooms, and had similar experiences.

The hotel appeared to be pretty new, and is well maintained. The rooms were clean and large. I had a king room, she had 2 double beds. They were also well sound proofed. I was next to the elevator and never heard a sound from the elevator, the hallway, or from the room next door. The hotel is also next to the freeway, and I never heard any traffic noise in the room.

We were travelling with well behaved dogs, and appreciate the dog friendly accomodations and not being charged a pet fee. As responsible dog owners that travel with freshly washed dogs, clean up after our dogs and contain them in crates the rooms, this was appreciated.

The beds were clean and comfortable, with bed linens in good condition, and decent pillows. Rooms smelled fresh and clean, although a bit perfumey. Bathrooms were basic, very clean, and the water pressure was good. Towels were average, in good condition, and smelled fresh. Carpets were clean with no stains.

The staff was helpful and friendly, although the front desk did not know much about restaurants in the surrounding area.

The only thing that did not pass muster for me was a considerable amount of food residue on the TV remote control and phone buttons.

Other than this, it was a nice hotel and I will definitely stay there again on my next visit.

Husband and myself were staying at hotel for a seminar that was at the Gwinette Convention Center. Every morning they had a nice breakfast. They had bagles, cereal, waffles (you make), eggs, sausage and bacon, fruits, and juices. This hotel is convient to so many places.

It was clean and we felt safe. The staff was very friendly. We enjoied the front desk staff, room cleaner people were friendly along with another gentleman that seemed to have many tasks where we saw him everywhere.

We paid $89 a night plus taxes and found it reasonable.

  • Liked — Price, clean, location
  • Disliked — boy preteen hockey team staying there while we were there. Lots of abnoxious uncontrolled children. (not hotels fault but hotel did a great job quickly cleaning after them!)
