“Dirty and Overpriced”

Days Inn Duluth

Jan 20, 2008

Very Disappointed. First impressions bad. Glass in entry door broken, looks like vandalism. Hallway smelled like cigarette smoke. Room 210. Bedspread had three large holes in the comforter. Not acceptable. Trash from previous occupants not cleaned up. Shower head mildewed, plaster in shower crumbling off wall, toilet paper holder pitted with rust, baseboards in bathroom filthy, sink finish spotty and faded. Overall felt tired and dirty. The single pane glass in the window did nothing to reduce street noise, which amazingly did not drown out the noise from the occupants of room 212. The sheets on the bed were of very poor quality. They felt scratchy and cheap. I think this hotel should be in the category of $29.99 a night, and to charge more is simply deceiving and unjustified. Upon checkout, the clerk asked me if I was heading towards the airport, and could I give a ride to a woman sitting in the lobby. Again, something more fitting for a $29.99 a night room.

“Worst Night Ever”

Days Inn Duluth

Mar 31, 2004
4/4 found this review helpful

We stayed here on a long driving trip, and this was one experience I hope never to repeat. To start with, the marquee light was out and we had to drive up and down the street a few times before we spotted the place. There were two junked cars in the parking lot. The hallways were dirty, but the elevators were dirty and littered with trash. The room smelled funny, was none too clean, and we found pubic hair on the counter. On our way out for dinner, we discovered one of the doors to the outside had no lock (actually, no handle either). And continental breakfast the next morning was some cereal and milk in a fridge. Days Inn should dismember this hotel.
