Melton's has been around for 18 years. From its opening I adopted it as a friendly place to have a good lunch. On average I will eat there four or five times a month (sometimes more). It recently reopened after an unfortunate incident (not of their doing) forced them to close for some months while they undertook some extensive remodeling. In addition to a large appetizer list, it offers a great selection of sandwiches, all with an original twist. You have a choice of three sides (well four if they have made my favorite, the red-skinned potato salad) -- spicy curly fries, slaw, or pasta salad. They have a soup of the day as well as an excellent black bean chili, six entree salads (try the dilled chicken salad), and five different pasta dishes. During the evening (after 5 pm) they offer some additional items as entrees. They have a small but decent wine selection. Their forte is in the beer selection. They were among the first in the Atlanta area to offer the Belgian ales after legislation permitted their sale. They have a great selection of ales and craft beers as well as "rotating" taps that change every week to feature a different set brews.
