Having spent a considerable amount of time in India and being married to an Indian, you could say that I am rather critical of Indian cuisine prepared anywhere outside of the subcontinent, however, my experience at Madras Chettinaad proved to me that I don't have to travel to India to enjoy the country's authentic flavors. Not even the fact that the restaurant appeared terribly short-staffed and that the kitchen had cooked and served all of its mutton by the time we dined affected my enjoyment of the meal. With an emphasis on South Indian cuisine, Madras Chettinaad delivered exactly what we had been searching for in the greater Atlanta area. My husband and I shared the masala dosa in addition to a traditional non-veg thali. The curries were rich and delicious and there was more than enough food for the 2 of us. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a large appetite, an open mind, and a craving for the amazing blend of spices and aromas that are India.
