“Good food and coupons”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

Very good atmosphere and the food is very good. They put me on their mailing list with couponsand reasonable prices for good quality food. My only complaint was not putting a small plate out for the dinner biscuits, but we will be going back again.

“Great food, Excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

The best chicken fingers by far. This Restaurant takes special care of police and fire fighters. Glad I visited. Glad to know we are appreciated.(I am a retired fire fighter). Very friendly staff.

“Could be great, but isn't”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012 via mobile

First, the trains. They must have some amazing soundproofing going on because they are in no way annoying. Kinda fun to watch, actually,

Management: Add your drinks to the menu. Looking around it looked like you were a "dry" establishment, I would've ordered a beer if I had known you sell them!

Service: terrible. Management - Tell your waiters and waitresses to write the orders down! Every Order! Every Time! YOU ARE NOT IMPRESSING ANYONE BY NOT TAKING ORDERS ON PAPER. Despite being asked twice what I actually ordered, I still received the wrong entree! Customers: Demand that they write it down!

Quality: The lime/teriyaki salmon was fine. The fried green tomatoes were OK. (Wife liked them a lot. I don't care for them in general.) Grilled seafood platter: Don't know, as I was given the "Great Seafood Platter" which sucked!

All in all it seemed like amateur hour. For the price, you're better off hitting any of the other cheaper places in town. Not worth the value.

“Dalton Depot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

If you like trains, then this is the place to go. As you sit enjoying dinner, you feel, then hear, then see the freight trains (and maybe passenger, if they go thru here) go by just a few yards away. This is the old Train station of Dalton, Georgia, the same train station that Sherman used during the Civil War as a hospital, and did not destroy to the ground. - There is also a Model Train that runs around the inside above your heads and tables. - The food was good, a variety of choices (steaks, pastas, seafoods); the Dalton CofC and Vistors bureau recommended this to use as one of the best in the Dalton area. Remember this is the Carpet Capital, not a restaurant capital.

“Didn't Live up to its Lofty Ranking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

Recent health score 90.
Our lunch experience here was disappointing despite the many positive reviews.
The old railroad depot is beautifully restored and decorated, reflecting Dalton's historical connection to railroading.
They have a limited lunch menu, mostly sports bar type foods. Although the place wasn't crowded, the service was slow and the server seemed confused. My wife ordered a salad with a hot dressing on the side, but it came out with cold dressing mixed in. My cheeseburger was nothing special.
It's possible we would have had a better experience if we had come for dinner. However, based on our meal, I can't recommend this restaurant.
