“The Best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Long Mountain Lodge. The home is beautiful and comfortable and the scenery was awesome. It is a quiet, relaxing place to stay and you will definitely want to stay more than one night!. Snacks and drinks at check-in were provided and breakfast was delicious! We recommend Long Mountain Lodge to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay in Dahlonega. If you need proximity to Camp Merrill, you can't find a place any closer!

We had a great two nights. The staff was very friendly and helped us plan our time away from the B&B. We visited nearby Amicolola Falls (30 min away), walked around town (10 minutes away) and hiked some other nearby trails that the hostess recommended. I'd go back and I'd easily recommend this place to family and friends.

I booked this B+B based on previous folks reviews I found on Tripadvisor. We were there for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. Diane, Don and Colleen have gone to great lengths to think of everything that you would need or desire...then beyond. Our room was spacious and yet cozy. We had a fireplace (which you can actually use),a jet tub, candles, terry robes and our own little balcony. They provide late afternoon snacks and libations and you will find bottled water and chocolates in your room each day. They keep a dozen varieties of teas that you can brew anytime you want, along with 2-3 types of coffee. The breakfast is fabulous and they will accommodate food allergies ect. The lodge is decorated to invite a feeling of warmth and southern mountain welcome which is accomplished without a doubt. They provide a library full of unique and vintage books and magazines (newer too) which you are invited to read or If you find one that you can't live without, they are priced to be purchased. The attention to detail and hospitality is the draw for me. The folks we met there to include staff and fellow travelers were truly a delight.

We visited for two nights for our 20th anniversary. The room was great...fireplace, comfortable bed, desk, jacuzzi tub, and lots of little extras. The food was wonderful...everything Kate made was delicious! And a pleasant surprise -- be sure to check out the library in the basement. It has everything from original Chaucer and Dickens to Nancy Drew to George Bush Jr.

But what made this B&B truly a gem was the personal care given by both Don and Kate. When Don learned we were planning to go on a long hike for our anniversary he gave us excellent advice on where to go and how to get there, and even lent us his "emergency" first aid pack just in case. He leads groups on hikes and this is clearly a passion of his, but he went out of his way to make sure we were both prepared for and happy with our hike.

Thank you both for an amazing vacation!

Room Tip: We took the room upstairs -- it was very private and had stairs both inside to the kitchen and outsi...

We recently spent our 43rd wedding anniversary at Long Mountain Lodge and loved every minute of it. Nice location, great views, comfortable accommodations and fabulous staff. Dianne, Don & Colleen made sure we had a great stay. Oh...and the breakfasts--excellent here also. My wife loved hearing the rooster off in the distance every morning. We had the Winding Stair Gap room & loved it. You have a private entrance, porch and nice view of the mountains. I don't think you could make a better B&B choice if you plan to stay in or around Dahlonega.

This is my favorite B&B stay...outstanding. Clean, modern facilities comfortably outfitted -- comfortable bed -- would be sufficient but the friendly, helpful and caring folks who run the place add...and of course, the view. And breakfasts won't be the same from now on. Enjoyed the peaceful beauty, even with a morning rooster in the distance. Enjoyed the town of Dahlonega, too.

Room Tip: Liked the roominess of Campbell 2, downstairs.

My wife and I stayed at the Long Mountain Lodge for a wedding. While we only stayed one night it was absolutely fantastic. The breakfast alone was worth the stay. Don and Kate are super nice and the lodge is great. Don helped us with directions and the area and offered to help us in anyway. Great views, comfortable room, and hospitality that couldn't be beat.
