Wolf Mountain Vineyards is located about 7 miles from downtown Dahlonega on Hwy 19. The winery is small, but nicely done. The view is really the only attraction here, unless you 2nd mortgage your home, going inside is very costly. The tastings alone are $11 for a few sips of wine grown in Georgia clay, not exactly the fertile grounds of Napa Valley. The brunch in the dining area will set you back around $30 a person, which for what you get is not exactly James Beard Award fare.
Save yourself a trip and some money and visit some of the local tasting rooms located on the downtown square, as some are offered free of charge. One last thing to remember with wine from this region, does not keep well after opening the bottle. Better to finish it all once you cork it, than to have the nasty sweet vinegar that you will discover if you try to keep it for a few days
