“Great Getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

This was unique for us. The B&B and inn were actually closed. My wife and I stayed in the Dancing Bear Cottage which was amazing! I also surprised my wife by ordering the Romance Package and David and Dennis had it waiting for us when we arrived! It was quite with the exception of the birds which we really enjoyed. The screened in back porch was awesome, especially when the storm with outside one evening. It was nice to be by the new pool as well when the weather was hot. The hot tub was great, so was the whirlpool tub and shower. We only had one issue with not understanding how to actually work the tub, but that was quickly remedied with a call. The cabin is close to the Appalachian Trail and a small town of Dahlonega. My wife and I visited the town everyday! Paul Thomas Chocolates is a must and I highly recommend the candied apple. We had soup at the Picnic Cafe, craw fish Po boys at Bourbon Street on the balcony, and a wonderful Italian dinner at Piazzas. We took pizza home from Gustavo's which was great as well! There was a festival called the Bear in the Square on Saturday and it was nice to see all the art/pottery. They had food trucks and music too. Everyday we went to town but it was great to come back to the cottage to relax! We hope to return sometime in the future for a longer stay and to enjoy some of the stuff we missed out on like the spa service and pub!

If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, romantic place to stay while in the Dahlonega area, look no further than the Mountain Laurel Creek Inn & Spa. My wife and I are both retired airline employees and have stayed in many different properties across the country - and this ranks as one of the best B&B's we have had the pleasure of staying in. The attention to detail is amazing here. Our room was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable (I like a firm mattress) and the sheets were silky soft. The property is immaculately maintained with numerous outdoor seating areas, including an outdoor fire pit. The breakfast is something you do not want to miss! After a starter of fresh whipped yogurt with strawberries, we were served egg and turkey sausage wrapped in a phyllo dough that was beautifully presented like a five star restaurant. Delicious! My only regret is that we were only able to stay one night. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a relaxing, romantic place to stay in the Dahlonega area.

We had an all-around wonderful experience. The owners were warm and welcoming and had a number of great recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. The rooms and grounds were well kept and served as a wonderful oasis in the midst of the woods. I highly recommend staying at Mountain Laurel and plan to revisit in the near future.

Mtn Laurel is amazing! The B&B is beautiful, calm and immaculately clean and kept. Dennis and David go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable and relaxed. The rooms are beautifully decorated and so serene. We stayed in the Dogwood Suite and could not have been more pleased. There was so much attention to detail in the room, down to wine glasses and corkscrew to open the bottle. The beds are comfortable and the sheets were amazingly soft. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful, not only in taste but presentation as well. First class all the way. If you like privacy, but some place that caters to your complete satisfaction call Dennis and David! Thanks guys, for a much needed break from the hectic day to day pace of life!

Room Tip: I would recommend any room available. The suite is well worth the price difference.

We had a girl's weekend at Mountain Laurel. After spending the day sampling the wine of the area we sat in the well appointed media room and enjoyed another bottle of wine and watched a movie from the extensive collection. Breakfast was amazing! We all treated ourselves to a wonderful Spa Package after breakfast What a wonderful spot.

My wife and I spent our Anniversary weekend here! We will definitely return. The attention to every detail was amazing. Clean, comfortable, peaceful and relaxing! The wine was terrific! The walk by the creek was beautiful. The coffee and breakfast were wonderful.

This past weekend was my third stay at Mt. Laurel and it was wonderful, as usual. Dennis and David are so welcoming; the breakfasts are terrific, and this time I found a trail leading down to a stream. It was beautiful and peaceful. The room was perfect. If you're looking for a great place to stay, look no further. This is it. And the spa treatments are amazing!!!
