My wife and I stayed here for 2 days in July and had a great time. The Cedar House Inn is actually made of cedar, with two very clean, charming, and well-appointed rooms. Also on the property are several yurts, which provide a unique B&B experience. It’s in an ideal location, just a couple of miles north of Dahlonega amid some of the best scenery Georgia has to offer. Several of Georgia’s best wineries are minutes away, including including Wolf Mountain (virtually walking distance), Three Sisters, and Frogtown Cellars.
Fred and Mary Beth Tanner create a very warm and relaxing atmosphere. I found it very peaceful and “centering.” The Tanners seem to take a personal interest in each of their guests and yet are not in the least intrusive. They seem to give you just as much conversation or privacy and space as you need. They both are delightful conversationalists, and have had interesting life experiences, and are well-read, ecologically minded, and socially-conscious. They also seem to draw interesting people as guests.
Breakfasts were wonderful, with delicious and natural ingredients. We very much enjoyed lounging about and reading the many interesting magazines they subscribe to. We also enjoyed hiking the trails in the nearby national forest.
We definitely want to return.
