“Great Roadtrip Stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

We stopped at this hotel on our way back up north from Florida. It very conveniently located off I75. We wanted to visit the Historic Andersonville Civil War Prison and the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site the next day before resuming our trip home. It was the perfect place to stop!

It is a fairly new hotel with much better than average accommodations. We paid for a 2 room suite and found it to be least amount we paid for a night on our entire 2 week trip. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. She gave us directions to a Cracker Barrel a very short distance away.
We found this hotel to be clean, comfortable and quiet for the most part. There was a little noise in the corridor outside our living room area because of a wedding reception going on in the hotel that night but it did quiet down and the bedroom area was extremely quiet.

They had a good breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles etc. The breakfast room was good sized for the hotel and pretty busy at about 8 0'clock. The pool was small but we didn't use it. The parking lot was well lit. There is a small strip mall a distance behind this hotel. It must have been recently built but is completely empty which gives it a slightly eerie feel. It took us about 1/2 hour to get to Andersonville along beautiful country roads.

We will definitely stop here again on our next trip south.

First impressions are everything and while the desk clerk was not 'rude' upon our arrival at 5:30 PM Monday, 14 May, neither were we made to feel welcome. We travel quite a bit and are usually greeted with a smile and friendly attitude. Again, it wasn't exactly UNFRIENDLY, but for sure we felt a little uncomfortable. I'm the type of person that can usually put a smile on ANYONES face and make folks relaxed and at ease. Not this time. She did advise that we'd booked a standard room which faced the highway and for $10 more we could get a suite on the other (quiet) side. We first looked at the standard room and found it quite clean, well appointed and very acceptable but the trucks on the Interstate were somewhat loud With that we opted for the upgrade and up we went and began unpacking...... and sweating!
Turned the wall thermostat down as low as possible and heard the unit kick on but the darn thing never cooled the bedroom! There was NO air movement in the bedroom vent and only a little in the living room vent (which WAS a little cooler. At least the vent felt a little cool, unlike the bedroom vent which was warm.) We waited at least 10 minutes before calling the front desk and the ( same ) clerk said she would come up and check. She assured us the unit was working, but again , we were HOT and there was NO air at all coming from the (bedroom) vent. We felt we needed to change rooms which she was agreeable to do. I stayed and packed while my wife went to turn in the old key and get the new. She went ahead and turned the unit on before getting me and off we went again to the same results.
I don’t know WHAT the problem was but I DO know the difference between hot and cold! In any event, we were not going to simply sweat it out and asked to go back to the standard room.
Most distressing was having to stand around the front desk while the clerk called the manager and told her , in our presence, that the Air Conditioning WAS working but that I ( me) 'thought is wasn't' Heck, I KNOW when I'm sweating !
That was rude and unprofessional!
FINALLY, we returned to the standard room and the A.C. worked perfectly, cooling down the room almost instantly. Over an hour of wasted time and unpleasantness. When we returned from dinner in fact, she didn't even greet us at all, turning away as we came in. What’s up with that?
Now, the room itself was very clean and comfortable, as were the hallways , lobby and breakfast room. The rest of the staff were unfailingly polite, friendly and pleasant, especially the breakfast attendant. Coffee was good hot and plentiful and the breakfast was more than adequate but lacked eggs. Waffles were good as were the fried chicken patties and biscuits.
Again, THAT was a relaxing way to start the day.
. I also noted that the whirlpool outside was empty .
One other note was low water pressure in the shower. Soap and shampoo were of good quality.
The gal at the desk was SO friendly and nice that I will overall give this place an 'ok'.
It's for sure a good value when using priceline, but the traffic noise is an issue no doubt.
I'm not sure if I'd try there again or not . I felt a call from management was in order.

Room Tip: See notes above. 'Suites' are for sure quiter than 'standard'.

This property provides a clean and economical place to sleep for the business traveler.
I regularly do business in Albany, Georgia and often have early morning meetings. With a 4 hour drive there from suburban Atlanta, I often need a place to stay. Cordele, Georgia is only 35 miles from Albany and has much less expensive accomodations / accomodation tax. Be aware that it is adjacent to I-75 and may be a bit noisey for some, but it is clean and affordable.

Room Tip: As for a room that does not face I-75. Cracker Barrel Resturant is nearby and is (as always) a go...

We recently stayed at this hotel on our way to Florida. It was a good value. We picked up the hotel books at the Georgia Welcome Center, and were able to get a good rate ($60 plus tax). The room was clean and comfortable. Nothing special or fancy about this hotel, but it was clean! Breakfast was fine, again nothing fancy or special, but enough to get you going in the morning. We would definitely stay here again when passing through the area.

The property was well maintained and the employees, with one exception, were extraordinarily friendly for a facility of this type. Room was clean and large, bed was comfortable and common areas were clean and attractive.
There were two drawbacks. The air conditioner in the room was very loud-it sounded like a freight train. But the main issue was the pool! It's been over 80 degrees for weeks but the pool and hot tub-both outdoors were "closed for the season". Other, cheaper hotels/motels had their pools open in town. There was water in the pool, yet it was closed! Waiting for 100 degree plus temperatures??? Bad! I booked this stay on Priceline or I would have passed on this property because of the pool. We checked in around 3:30 and would have loved a swim and hot tub experience.
If you come when the pool is open, your stay will be much better than ours.
If you haven't tried Priceline's Name Your Own Price feature, do it! I've booked several nights on our way to and from Florida and saved at least 50% off the rate you would get on the major sites like Expedia and Hotels.com. You have to know what town you are staying in, but if you do, this is an amazing feature!

Room Tip: Be sure you ask if the pool/hot tub are open before booking! Also, get a room facing away from the...

The Country Inn & Suites of Cordele is a very nice inn for this area. It is located at exit 99 of the 75. There is at this exit the inn and a Waffle House and a high school. This is a fairly recently constructed inn. Country Inn & Suites is a Carlson Hotel company.
We, my wife, negotiated the room rate with the main reservation center via phone while checking the rate online at the company's website. Final rate and booking was completed via the telephone.
We checked in at 2 PM. Staff was very sweet and professional. This is a tower with all rooms accessed via interior halls only. Elevators are centrally located and stairwells located at both ends and center of building. The pool and spa were closed for the season although the outside temp. was in the 80's.
Inn has a very attractive main lobby. A buffet type breakfast is served every day. Main dish this day was chicken fried chicken patties and biscuits. Our room was a two bed, queen. Beds were very comfortable. Nice 42" flat screen television, frig., and very sturdy furniture added to the comfort level of our room.
The climate control unit worked well. There was always hot water available. Free wifi was included. The office desk in this room was very large and there was a very nice office chair also. Problems I encountered while here were, I found a couple of the vending machines to be out of stock of water, this caused me to look for water on a few different floors of the inn. The office printer located in the business center of the inn was malfunctioning. The inn staff was unable to remedy this problem for me.
Any member of the staff that I encountered were always friendly and professional too.
