Owner description: The National Infantry Museum emphasizes the values that define the Infantryman, as well as the nation he protects: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. It preserves and displays one of the greatest collections of military artifacts in the world, but it is a museum of people, not things. As a visitor, you will meet the Infantryman face to face and join him on his journey. You will come to understand why an Infantryman does what he does, why he puts himself in harm’s way in defense of an idea and you will leave transformed, just as the Infantry transforms the man into the Soldier. The 190,000-square-foot museum opened in June 2009 on a 200-acre tract of hardwoods and pines just outside the gates of the Fort Benning Maneuver Center of Excellence.

“Awesome Museum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

This is a very intensive Infantry Museum. Discover the history of the Infantry thru the years of our Nation. IMAX theatre, simulations, exhibits, uniforms, weapons...you name it, it's there for all to see. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

“Not to miss!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

Wonderful museum that is dedicated to the infantryman. It truly is a wonder to behold and includes some interactivity for you and the kids. The initial entranceway is breathtaking and sets you up for a wonderful experience. The iMax theatre is state of the art and you will be happy that you included this in your itinerary.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013 via mobile

An outstanding experience! Extremely well done and so realistic. It makes you proud that you served god country and gives admiration for those now serving. It brought back so many memories. We just did not allow enough time and will certainly return in the near future. It makes you proud to be an American and humble that so many sac roved their lives to protect our freedom. Our infantry is coined to combat Tyranny from outside forces or within and to protect our Constitutional Rights

“very well done”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

Great museum. I wish I would have had more time to spend there and absorb it all. This is a "must" if you are visiting your soldier at Ft. Benning. Don't miss it. The proud veterans who serve as guides were the highlight of our visit. They interacted with our soldier and really made our family proud. The attraction is free but they accept donations. Put a pile of money in the jar.... it's worth it.

“One of the best museums you could ever go to”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

Title says it all.

This is one of the best done museums that I have ever been to.

Sometime you can end up there on the same day as a Basic Training graduation day and that makes it even more special.
