“Neat place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

A clean & quiet place, right off the main drag, that serves fantastic gourmet food! Only spent 1 night, but enjoyed our brief stay. Cannot beat the breakfast, really good! And the town of Clayton was a blast, highly recommend!!!

Room Tip: Rose Cottage is NOT for tall people, banged my head a few times unfortunately.

Glad you loved Beechwood Inn and our “fantastic food.” Yes, our town of Clayton has many interesting shops, engaging night-spots and quirky art galleries. We are pleased you found it a blast. Sorry about bumping your noggin in the Rose Cottage Room. Our historic Beechwood Inn while lovely to behold, does offer a couple "rustic" altitudinal challenges for tall people.

We spent two nights at the Beechwood Inn and I wish we could have stayed longer. The place is GORGEOUS and the people are truly wonderful. David & Gayle absolutely know what they are doing and excell at it. We stayed in the Vineyard Room which was wonderfully cozy. The bed was so soft it was hard to leave! We met some nice people there too & got to peek inside the Blueberry Cabin which is where we want to stay next time. The breakfasts were delicious and elegantly prepared. We can't wait to visit again!

Thanks for the wonderful compliments. Gayle has done all the decorating throughout Beechwood Inn, and she always appreciates people noticing the details. While it is a historic property we try to keep it fresh. We have recently installed new window treatments and remodeled bathrooms. And yes, we spend time making your breakfast not only tasty – but also a little elegant to behold. We look forward to your next visit.

We loved this place! We stayed in the Blueberry cabin and it was super. Set off by itself but still with the great ambience of a B&B. the "wine-thirty" in the afternoons were a great way to meet other guests. The breakfasts were a perfect way to start the day of hiking, shopping and sight-seeing. Clayton is a great base town to go in many mountain directions. We will surely be back and will only stay here.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have TV's so make sure you ask.

This was our second visit to the Beechwood Inn and was as outstanding as our first visit. We added the Saturday evening gourmet meal this year and can't say enough about it! All the fresh ingredients, the education of the different wines, and a meal that will bring us back for many more. We love wine-thirty in the evenings on the porch, the beautiful rooms with sheets on our bed that I must find for myself :) and a breakfast that is exceptional. We eagerly look forward to our next visit to the Beechwood Inn.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Laura Suite both times and love the roomy suite with the screened in porch and fire...

Glad you had a great visit and thrilled you enjoyed dinner. Gayle and I both enjoy wine-thirty as well as it gives us a chance to meet each guest and to help with things to do in our area. Oh, by the way, Beechwood Inn sells those wonderful 600 thread count sheets. They are “no iron,” and are warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Best regards and we look forward to your next visit.

We are regular visitors to Beechwood. David and Gayle always make us feel at home. Family responsibilities require us to visit Rabun County on a regular basis and we stay nowhere else but here. We have tried other places in the vicinity, but we have found the best at Beechwood. We appreciate the culinary delights of these world-class chefs, as well as the splendid choices from their wine cellar.

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely. We have tried them all.

My husband and I spent two nights at the Beechwood Inn. It's a little slice of heaven in the mountains. The Friday evening snacks with "wine 30" were devine. We stayed in the suite with the copper bathtub and I thought I might not ever go home!! We really enjoyed the farm to table breakfast, Our hosts could not have been more accomodating.
Worth the drive up from Atlanta anytime...

Room Tip: Ask for the suite with the copper bathtub

We had a wonderful relaxing late afternoon and evening at Beechwood Inn. We were in the area on a belated golf trip and always enjoy staying at B & Bs. We found the Beechwood Inn to be the place to stay after a round of golf. It was spotlessly clean, and we loved the large porch and appreciated the fact that the rooms had a piece of furniture upon which to sit and read. We especially enjoyed having wine and cheese and crackers with David and hearing his stories. Our breakfast was prepared by John the next morning and it was fantastic! We definitely did not go away hungry and the scrambled eggs were the fluffiest that we have ever eaten. We would highly recommend the Beechwood Inn to friends, and would love to go back another time.

We are pleased you had a wonderful visit and enjoyed wine-thirty on the front porch. I will tell Nancy, our house-keeper, that she got another rave review for her ability to keep Beechwood Inn "spotless." I think our local eggs from an organic pastured farm makes them better than store bought eggs. They are fresher and studies show they are healthier for us. Plus, they taste better.
