“Everything is here & close to Bryce Canyon NP”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

We stayed here for two nights and did not regret our decision. There were a handful of other lodging options but we decided that BW Ruby's Inn was the best choice based on price, amenities, and location.

We arrived early, around lunchtime, and given a room at the Elk Lodge. This property was huge with low rise buildings scattered around. We chose a room at the upper floor since we did not want to be bothered by loud footsteps or unruly kids/teenagers horsing around had we stayed in the ground floor. We were pleased that the room was clean and had the appliances we needed: fridge, microwave, flat screen tv, coffee maker, and working heater since it was still very cold. Another plus for us was the free wifi in the room.

BW Ruby's Inn had everything we needed. The items were a bit pricey, but the owners practically had a monopoly on this location. They had a gas station, well stocked grocery, souvenir and general merchandise store, a restaurant, and a laundromat. We had lunch in the restaurant once when the line was not long. It was a bit expensive, but the other dining options were closed so we had no choice. After that, we just bought food in the grocery and either had a picnic inside Bryce Canyon NP or ate inside the room. At least we did not have to drive far to buy items we needed since almost everything was there in the complex.

The location was very close to Bryce Canyon, just a couple of minutes away. We would return to our room when we got tired, then go back to the park after we rested.

I'm glad you chose to stay with us at Ruby's Inn! Being so close to the National Park is definitely a plus, you can leave your room and take in beautiful views from the Canyon rim within a matter of minutes. Also good to hear that you were able to enjoy picnicking in the park. Our General Store is well stocked for picking up a lunch on the way to the Canyon.

Another good thing you point out is that our rooms do all have refrigerators, microwaves and coffee pots. There's never any guessing or hoping that you'll be able to get one of the few available appliances when you stay with us.

We appreciate your comments and hope to have you visit again! If we can be of assistance in the future, please contact us at 435-834-5341.

Sincerely,

Manager's Assistant

Ruby's Inn is well located, just outside the park entrance. It is practically the only choice for close accommodations for Bryce Canyon Park. As such it is almost like a resort, providing a gas station, restaurant, grocery/camping supply store and excellent gift shop. There is also a laundromat and copy center and a place to get "old-timey" photos taken.
Overall the room was comfortable and well equipped. The beds were a bit on the bouncy side. There is a great indoor pool and jacuzzi and we took advantage of, very nice after a long day of hiking in the canyon.
On the other hand, we came back to sloppy housekeeping one day: poorly made beds and no vacuuming done. We had to call to have them redo the room and they responded promptly. The biggest disappointment was the food at the restaurant. Since there are no other choices nearby the restaurant does not have healthy competition which would make them try harder and keep their prices more in line with what they actually offer. I would rank the restaurant a one or two because of low quality food: the bread was stale every time we tried it. The soup was seriously over salty and the food looked like it was put away and brought out again daily. The prices were very high, considering the low quality.

Room Tip: This lodge has several buildings. We stayed in Antelope Lodge. It was situated behind the main lodg...

Thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate hearing both the good and the bad, so we know what we're doing right, and where we could improve. I will pass your comments on to the restaurant. I'm sorry you came back to a room not being cleaned one of the days, but I am glad we were able to resolve that situation quickly for you.

We had a queen room with two beds in the Lakeview Lodge. No noise from the road as our accomodates faced away from the road. Pleasant view of the little lake. Bed was comfortable and the room had a microwave and refrigerator. Would stay here again. Close to Bryce Canyon National Park.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us and would consider returning. I would suggest seeing the Canyon in different times of year, each has its advantages. The major season is just now starting at the Park, with all the trails being opened and the ground nice and dry (but the weather not too hot) for hiking.

Motel-style hotel literally 2 minute drive from the Bryce canyon entrance. We had a 2 room suite that easily accommodated our family of 5. 150, very spacious. Pool was nice, inside, heated (the lack of changing area was a little inconvenient). Convenience store has everything one needs, room has microwave and full-sized fridge. So clearly not the most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed in but the location and the value makes give it 4 stars.

Thank you for staying with us at Best Western Plus Ruby's Inn! We're glad to have guests enjoy themselves enough that they share it with the rest of the web. I'm sorry that you were inconvenienced regarding the changing rooms, we do have them by the pool but they're simply listed 'men' and 'women', not specifically noted as changing rooms. That may be something we can look into.

We had a nice king room in the lodge, even had a sofa. The room had a jacuzzi and a Seperate shower. Comfortable bed, linens, and pillows. We had both a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Both were very nice to have as we had read on tripadvisor how expensive the food was, so we brought in our own breakfast. Since it was snowy and so very cold, the indoor pool and access to the lodge's stores was very helpful. Yes, we'd stay with Ruby again.

I really hesitated, when booking our trip, to stay here. It has some mixed reviews. Our stay was pleasant but there were some draw backs.
Pros:
I think it depends on what building you stay in as to the quality of the room. We stayed in the Elk Lodge and were very pleased with our room. It was very big, clean, and furnished well. The beds were comfortable and the TV, fridge, and microwave were nice. It had 2 tables that we appreciated. As we were traveling with our baby we appreciated that we could set up the pack n play and still have plenty of room. The location is awesome because you are literally at the entrance to Bryce Canyon.
Cons:
If you don't pack your own food then expect to pay through the nose. The on-site store was well equipped but extremely pricey. The service was very generic and the hotel lacks a certain amount of character as it is a HUGE complex. We didn't swim in the pool or use any of the public space.
The price was good and the hotel clean so I think we would stay here again but just make sure we bring in our own food. Bryce is amazing so it's worth it!
