We stayed at this Holiday Inn Express for 3 nights (Fri., Sat, Sun.) to attend a family event in Cedartown. Check in was fast and easy, We were even given an upgrade on our room. Because we had errands to run soon after arriving in town, we did not immediately go to our room. When we did, we realized that the refrigerator had the shelves inserted backwards preventing the door from closing. This caused the freezer to ice up and the unit was not cooling well. The ice was a couple of inches thick and kind of brownish, like maybe a Coke had exploded in the freezer. Had housekeeping been doing their job, this would have been cleaned prior to our arrival. The next morning I tried to make coffee. It did not drip into the carafe, so I turned it off and reached up to the shelf to take the coffee maker down to see why it did not pump through the machine. I did not realize that all the water was staying in the filter compartment so reaching for the machine, I tilted it a bit, and coffee poured out all over me. It turned out that the problem was that the carafe was not the correct one for the machine and did not trigger the filter container to drip. At this point I went to the lobby for a cup of coffee (8:15 am). They were out of coffee in the lobby and forgot to make more. That was ok, I would have a cup of hot tea. Oops! The hot water dispenser was empty, too. Then, when we went in for breakfast, the oj dispenser was out of syrup. That was quickly remedied but by this time I was getting a little frustrated. Later that morning we did get a new refrigerator and a new coffee maker.
On Sunday morning I tried to use the hair dryer. It got really hot, but did not blow very well. Then it quit altogether. We were brought a new hair dryer within a couple of hours. At breakfast on Sunday morning, I tried to have a biscuit, but cutting into it I discovered that apparently somebody was in too big a hurry to take them from the oven. It was gooey, raw, dough in the center.
Yes, for the most part, all the problems we encountered were corrected, but I feel that had housekeeping and maintenance been a little more efficient the problems would not have happened. if I go back to Cedartown, I would probably stay here again, just because this HI Express, although far from perfect, is probably the best game in town. The manager who was on duty when we checked in was very friendly. If the rest of the staff were as pleasant, it would be much easier to overlook the aggravations that we had to deal with on this trip.
