When we arrived, they were very efficient checking us in, no delays and our room was very clean. The upstairs smelled a little musty, but the room was fine. I would of rated this place excellent if it had not been for the location, it is close to Lake Lanier Islands...awesome, but it is next to a vacant parking with work trucks...creepy, situated behind some fast food restaurants. Also, there isn't much of a view from the back, just some trees and the pool was seriously unimpressive, tiny, outdoor, and next to the creepy parking lot. I dont' think I care for men in work trucks hanging out in the parking lot watching me take a dip in the pool.
So here is the good part of the review. First, they have a Sundries room in the lobby with all the conveniences you would need if you had to step out and go to the gas station or drug store for last minute appetites or headaches. Premium name brands, mac n cheese, soups, crackers, trail mix, soda pop and sports drinks. In the breakfast area, they used very nice decor furnishings and it was extremely clean and organized so well. What I especially liked was the "on demand" pancake maker, instead of the "wait forever" waffle maker. Also, they had preimium brands again with Chobani yogurt. Also, the orange juice was concentrated out of the machine, this is rare. Most places have this watered down. I appreciated the coffee also, great brand, no cheap stuff here. Good quality. The cinnamon rolls were like going to a pastry shop, they were nice, big and covered in icing. If you enjoy the hot breakfast, they had eggs, sausage, and biscuits. Overall, the continental breakfast was a definite home run hit.
So, looking past the pool and the parking lot, it turned out to be a really nice place. I never felt threatened, the other people staying at the place seemed nice and family oriented.
Another think my husband said to mention was the HBO feature that came with the room, and they also had a nice microwave and refrigerator.
In closing, if you are looking to visit Lake Lanier Islands, but not really interested in paying $200 a night at their resort, and need a nice place with a great breakfast to get you on your way, and are not concerned about the swimming pool because you will get plenty of swimming at the lake, this is definately a smart move. If on the other hand, you want that luxury spa like resort feel, this probably isn't going to suit your fancy.
PS - this place is also near West Marine, several restraurants and shopping malls, and a Quick Trip.
