Visited this area in late March 2004 and was very pleased. We stayed in Brunswick at the Baymont Inns and Suites. We went to St. Simons Island where we were enchanted by the beautiful landscaping. The houses were big and beautiful and the streets were nicely tailored. We visited "The Village" where we parked and walked around for hours. If you go, you must eat at Barbara Jeans, she has the best crab cakes I have ever tasted. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We walked around the lighthouse and out on the pier. It was a very relaxing adventure. The next day we sailed aboard the Emerald Princess, a casino boat that leaves from the port in Brunswick. It was only $10 and we were served Breakfast and a snack with access to gambling once we arrived in international waters. The Head chef "Cedric" was really cordial and he also owns a restaurant in town called "Cedric's". He made our trip a very informative one. The sail was nice and relaxing as well. Finally, we visited Jekyll island and pretty much just walked and looked at the natural beauty it had to offer. We found the biggest sea shells I've ever seen on the sandbar next to Blackbeard's restaurant. Another good restaurant is Spanky's, they are reasonable and give you alot of good seafood. Overall, this trip gets an "A++". I shall definitely return to this majestic place.
