Thought we would go back in time a little and stay at a HoJo on the trip home from Florida. I had thought they had gone out of business but I guess it is the restaurants that are tough to find as I notice several inns on the trip. But one night at this inn is enough to make me never stay there again. Looks like they purchased an old motel and began renovating. The lobby was beautiful and well done and checkin was easy and smooth. We had our dog, no problem as they are pet friendly. We drove around the corner to our room and it started to go downhill.

The room was very small with a slight odor to it. The beds were very comfortable which was the only plus side to this place. The shower head was at my shoulders (I am only 6 feet so not a giant) so bent over to get clean. It looked like there were only 2 or 3 other travelers staying there, the remainder appeared to be living at the inn and seemed to be not too well off, though all I encountered were very friendly. Our dog did not sleep much that night and spent most of the night standing sentry at the door with all the activity going on outside.

After a restless night of sleep, we went to check out, no one at the front desk so we went in for the breakfast. Frozen english muffins, two pieces of bread, some coffee, cereal and eggs (I think they were eggs). We were there for at least 30 minutes (mostly trying to figure out what was edible) and there was still no one at the desk or attending the breakfast the entire time. We left the keys at the desk and went across the street to McDonalds to eat.

While on the road in this area, there are lots of other choices to make over this HoJos, I would choose one of them. Howard can not be happy with this establishment!
