“ROACHES”

The property appears to be very clean with nicely appointed rooms. The in-room coffeemaker was inoperable and we had to go down the hall to the lobby to retrieve a cup of coffee. However, a broken coffeemaker was nothing compared to our morning discovery that we had shared the room with roaches. While one disgusting roach scurried across the carpet, another was found in the bathroom. We have stayed at many, many hotels in the south and this was our first encounter with a hotel that cannot keep the roaches out of the guest rooms. We informed the front desk of the roaches. She asked about the size of the roaches and then thanked us for letting her know.

I want to thank you as well for bringing this unpleasant situation to our attention. While the question of "size" does seem somewhat odd, that is the key piece of information that we need to pass along to our pest control service. We convey that information to them and they immediately know how to proceed to ensure that this does not happen again. Although this is certainly an isolated incident, the quick reaction and follow through on behalf of our pest control company makes all the difference in the world. We have been diligent in our efforts to ensure that situations such as this do not repeat themselves and we will continue to do so.

At 10:30 on a Friday night the only staff member at the hotel was one desk clerk. She tried very hard to satisfy all of the guest's needs, but was overloaded. It took 20 minutes to check in, as she had to handle other guest issues at the same time. She did the best she could, but the lack of any managment support on a busy Friday night was unforgivable for a quality hotel. God forbid if there had been a safety or security issue arise. Ownership of this hotel needs to look at management skills and staffing priorities.

Thank you so much for bringing this situation to our attention. We train and prepare for busy times at the front desk but only when they occur, do we know how successful we will be. In this case, we missed our mark. Additional "real time" training for new associates has been instituted and guest supplies at the front desk have been rearranged to allow front desk staff better, quicker access during the busy times. Speed and accuracy is a primary concern during the checkin-in process as we want to ensure that your stay with us gets off to a wonderful start. We are confident that during your next visit, you will be appreciative of the results that your comments have helped us achieve.

I've always found this hotel friendly, clean, quiet, and tastefully decorated. I appreciate the pool and the modest work out area, the flat screen TVs and the free internet . However what moved me to write this review was the high level of service in my last visit. Jessica at the front desk went out of her way to take care of us in anticipating our arrival needs and in resolving a problem we were having getting our boarding passes. Moreover, Chris, the general manager has always been warm and gracious.

We had reservations at a nearby property that smelled of smoke and mold. Saw the Courtyard by Marriott Brunswick in the distance and took a chance that they would have a double queen room. Yay, they did and it's such a nice property. Jessica was awesome checking us in and gave us suggestions for dinner at Logan's Roadhouse.

Newly renovated lobby is terrific. All staff are neatly dressed and seem happy and are willing to help. Rooms well decorated and clean. Bathroom updated and clean. Stayed three nights and will stay there next time.

Nice hotel. Modern lobby and cafe. Free paper. Not a free breakfast. Wish they would spend more money feeding guests breakfast and less on the lobby, which no one seemed to use. Rooms were fine. Flat screen tv. Pool is heated, which isn't necessary when it feels like a hot tob. Gym A/C didn't work, but nice treadmills with tv's. Hard to find someone at the front desk, but they were friendly.

We only stayed overnight, but the rooms are huge, and very clean. Staff was very friendly. Pool was warm and very relaxing.
