I booked a room at the St. James Suites for two LONG weeks for a business trips. I called at least 5 hotels before booking this one, but they were completely booked. The one and only review on this website seemed very positive, so I figured I'd be OK...wow, was I wrong. When I first walked into my room, I thought, "wow, this is great" because it was so large...full kitchen, dining table, extra sink in the bedroom, etc. Eventually, I began to learn of the horrors of st. james...SCREAMING children on either side of my room...I asked to have my room moved but I was assured that they would be leaving in a day...wrong...they extended for a week...so I eventually ended up moving to another room, only to be tortured by yet more screaming kids on the other side of my new room. Next, the "pool" adverstised on the website (which been suddenly removed since I complained) is non-exsistent...there WAS a very small pool, but now it's just a pile of dirt and cement. Nice. Next, there were literally nightly visitors from a motorcycle gang...I'm assuming they had some convention here or they were just visiting friends EVERY night...only to leave at 11 at night, blaring their motorcycles, adding to the "peace and quiet" of the "lovely" hotel. Ah, yes, nighttime...trying to sleep was a challenge enough with those awful kids...but with those beds and pillows...oh man...the bed was literally like plywood...it was so awful...the pillows felt like deflating beanbags...what is wrong with this hotel manager? The hotel was not cheap, either! Luckily I didn't have to pay for the room..my business did...
The hotel is located right off of I-95, so the lovely roar of cars and trucks is also a nice addition to the hotel. The walls are SO paper thin that I cannot even believe they built a hotel like this. One more thing...there is no elevator...there are only 2 floors, but when you have a ton of luggage and equipment, climbing those stairs is enjoyable...oh, yes...almost forgot...when I asked for help with my luggage when I first checked in, the girl at the front desk tried to wake up the "bell hop", who was passed out on the couch in the conference room (it was only 9PM(=). He told her "get the f... away" and let him sleep. Nice...enjoy yourself at the St. James. I HIGHLY recommend it.

In response to this awful feedback, several issues must be addressed. This hotel has never had and neither will or need a bell hop. There was no one laying asleep on a couch with nothing to do. During this person's stay, we had 3 rooms with several gentlemen that were working with the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center that were riding motorcycles. They were here for one night. They were very pleasant and did not rev their motorcycles. They were here working with the government in the area of drug and alcohol enforcement. Also at this time, we had only 3 families in the hotel. Kids will be kids but we do not tolerate playing and loud noises at night. All of these families were very pleasant and respectful of the other guests.
We have never had a complaint on our mattresses or pillows. We have several extended stay rooms and the guests are quite happy with their rooms and the service. Writing such a herendous review, this guest should remember that in the nearly five years that we have been open, we have NEVER had a complaint like this.
