A 1,100 acre public park that offers fresh and salt water fishing, a full service campground, bait sales, a boat ramp, picnic pavilions, a swimming beach, a children's playground, volleyball courts, bike and walking trails, a field archery range, and tournament horseshoe courts. Boat, kayak, and canoe rentals are also available on site.
The park is rebuilding it's boat launch and docks. They should be completed late summer of 2013.
The campground is excellent. When the camping lots were laid out a great deal of native foliage was left in place to help give most campsites a sense of privacy. Especially the ones numbered in the upper 60s to 70s. Being a coastal campground, may have to cope with mosquitoes or gnats at some times during the year. My only complaint is the cost. As of this writing the cost per night was just under $37. This does include electric, water, cable tv and sewer connections. But you can stay at almost any state park in Georgia or Florida for $22 to $28 per night, so $37 for a regional park seems a little high. Regardless of this we do camp there and enjoy it.
