Heading north from Florida with my dad after the passing of my mom, we did not have a reservation and were travelling with our dog, neither of which was a problem. Arriving late around 11:30 PM was not a problem either and the person at the desk was very friendly and helpful. So far so good. Our room was relatively clean and we greatly appreciated the mini refrigerator since we had some things that required refrigeration. Getting ice from the ice machine on our floor however was a huge problem....there wasn't any. The machine did not work and there was nothing to indicate that it was out of order, so getting ice required a ride in the elevator, fortunately the ice on the floor below worked just fine. When all was said and done (people fed, the dog fed and pottied) we were finally able to settle in for some much needed sleep around 1:30 AM. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows but that's where the good ended. To my surprise, we were rudely awakened before 8:00 AM by someone in the hall sanding the wall right next to our door, even hitting the door causing the dog to bark. We never noticed that the hall was being remodeled. Since we were now up, we showered and attempted to make it down for breakfast stopping at the desk to mention the rude awakening, the clerk (didn't catch her name) basically just laughed and said well we are remodeling. As we moved to get some food, the breakfast was being put away, it was now 9:00 AM (the buffet went until 9:00); when we tried to grab something that was still left we got dirty looks and attitude. If we did this trip again, I'm not sure I would stay here again. Aside from it being a pet friendly place and extremely convenient to I95 it was just a bad nights stay.
