We were passing through, spending one night in Brunswick, and chose the Ramada based on recommendations from TripAdvisor. It was a most pleasant evening, except for our room. We were given room 118. The room was next door to the mechanical room. Some machinery in the mechanical room shifted off and on almost every minute we were in the room. The desk clerk offered to move us to another room, which he did, and offered to help us move our luggage, which he didn't. Unfortunately, the second room was upstairs. Don't avoid this motel-avoid this room. The desk clerk indicated that noone else had ever complained about the noise (which I doubt).
Also, someone had recently installed these newfangled, curved shower curtain rods-the ones that bend outward. Unfortunately, the motel did not invest in longer shower curtains. I was careful to close the shower curtain as best I could, but water was all over the floor after the shower because the shower curtain was too short. Could become a safety issue!
So far this sounds like a negative review, but it's really not. I have stayed for several nights at other places in Brunswick, Jekyll, and St. Simon's, and with the exception of the Jekyll Island Club and Resort, this is the nicest place around-including the Island offerings.
The flat screen tv was nice. The AC worked well. The bed was fine. The continental breakfast was what you would expect from a motel. The front desk personnel were pleasant and competent. Rates were satisfactory. We will return to this motel when passing through.
