“Nice place close to Kathmandu!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2012

A very nice place to stay! You will meet a nice family, in a lovely house and you have also the opportunity to learn something about the Nepali culture. It is close to Kathmandu, but still on the countryside. Nice and clean, a lovely village where you can spend some time. I will come back again!

Room Tip: All the room are very fine! Sorry no swimming pool!

Fantastic place to spend your vacation! You spend your time in a nice family who show you all nice places in Nepal and where you also have the opportunity to learn about the Nepali culture. It is not far from Kathmandu, but still you are on the countryside. A place wich I will recommend!

The accommodation was excelent and the best of all is the opportunity to live with a native family who offers a nice and warm welcome and the best tea I've ever taste.
Everyone was very kind and willing to help and they gave me not only accommodation but lots of true love and friendship.

I stayed at Babu´s homestay in Kirtipur, just outside Kathmandu, during Tihar 2011 and it was such a nice experience! I learned so much about Nepali and Newari culture, thanks to Babu and his family, and I have memories for life from my stay there. So I can warmly recommend this homestay. Not only is the house very nice and modern and well equipped with internet, western style bathrooms, etc. Also, the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. But most important; Babu and his family are such warm, welcomming people, and always eager to make their guests happy. They will help you with everything, from planning trekking, to .. what ever you wish, really. And one more thing: the food is home made and sooo good!

I stayed in Babu's and his family homestay this last September and October, and it was the most incredible experience in my life. I lived with a really nice family (Babu, Belku, Aayush and Ruja) who only think in their customers and help you to spend your best holidays in one of the most incredible countries in the world. During my stay in this pleasant home I felt like a family member and I learnt a lot of things about their way of life and their culture.
This homestay have one thing that others homestay doesn't have, is really close to Kathmandu (10-15 min) but you are living in a quite place and you can go everywhere without problems with public transport or taxi.
I recommend this homestay because everyday I spent in this home were better than the day before.

The homestay in Kirtipur with the family Babu, Belku, Ruza and Aayush is probably the friendliest, loveliest and coziest place i've every been to during my travels anywhere in the world. They make you feel like home and involved as you like to. The best food i've ever had as well. The homestay is situated at a pleasant distance from the stressful and dirt center of kathmandu, and both the place and their family have an interesting story that Babu will be glad to tell! If you stay in Nepal without visiting this family and place, you will miss alot! You have options as well, some of the rooms have really luxurious comfyness and there's also an old traditional house as well.

Staying in Babu's home is a-must if you visit Nepal. He and his lovely family (Belku, Ruja and Ayuss) will make your stay so comfortable and easy you will sure miss them so much once you leave their home.

Not only his wife, son and daughter, but also Belku's brother Nil will always be available for helping, talking, guiding you in a hike or a trekking. ;-)

Special mention for Belku's cooking!! She always sets delicious dishes with a big smile from ear to ear.

The environment, although beeing a little bit far away from Kathmandú center it does sure worth it. Surrounded by so-green rice fields and lovely neighbours they always have their doors opened to meet you. Also a lot of hikes are easy available and near throughout all the Kathmandu valley.

In conclusion, staying in Babu's home has been one of the most important points that made my trip to Nepal so special.

I'm willing to come back Babu, keep me a room booked!! :-)

Room Tip: All rooms are big, comfortable, clean and nice :)
