“Gourmet Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Dixie Cream Cafe is a little spot that only locals know about. Located in the small community of Windermere, Dixie Cream is well off the tourist track but worth a trip from anywhere in Central Florida. With breakfasts that foodies will love, biscuits the size of your head (Okay, I exaggerate) and the coolest little coffee cream dispensers you've ever seen, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They have a great bakery too!

“Just OK, but will try once more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Had Sunday breakfast there today, and was expecting a great meal based on T.A. reviews. Breakfast was just OK, but not excellent or even very good. I can make a better french toast,
the pancakes were gummy and the cheese grits were again, just OK. My first cup of coffee came with lots of lipstick on the rim. The second cup came with a chip in the rim. There needs to be a little better attention to detail, in my opinion. That said, with all the rave reviews, we will try Dixie Cream Cafe once more and make it for lunch.

“Just 20 minutes from boaring tourist food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Great to get away from all the tourist fare in Orlando. Well worth the 20 minute drive from Universal Blvd. if you're a Flying Buisquit fan, you'll love the Dixie Cream Cafe.

Fish Tacos and adult Mac and Cheese. Unlke any other. The restaurant is small but inviting. Everyone is very friendly. The locals hang out here.

“Local Eatery with lots of Charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

If you are in West Orlando, Winter Garden, Windermere, or Disney: do plan to visit this lovely breakfast and lunch cafe. Owned and operated by local people, it is bright and airey, with walls loaded with lively art by local artists.

The owner most days will walk by your table, and ask about your meal, with lovely grace, and a big smile. She recognizes frequent faces and always has a pertinent, friendly question to ask about your kids or your life.

The food is yummy, with options of "comfort food" as well as healthy salads, soups, and other healthy choices. If you just want a coffee and a dessert; or a wine and an appetizer: that is fine too!

BTW: What a lovely option to have a lovely late lunch/brunch; and then walk 2 doors over to Tim's Wine Cellar: and choose your wine for early cocktails or for dinner; then walk a little south to the Library's Park; and sit on a bench, and watch the birds, squirrels, and the kids at the basketball court. Who could want more? All in the day of the sleepy, little Towne of Windermere!
