“Just Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

We just absolutely loved this resort. We traveled there for my 40th birthday and it was awesome!! Ed, himself is a wonderful host! He started us out with some homemade (Free) cocktails and introduction to some of the other patrons. We were so close to everything in Wilton Manors/Ft. Lauderdale. We were in villa 2406. It was great!! Fresh linens, flowers and awesome towels. The pool area is to die for!! I know you will not regret staying here. We will be back for sure! Can't wait until next time!!

Room Tip: 2406 was great, but I know they all are!!! This one is near the pool.

We actually had plans to stay at a different resort which did not work out once we arrived to Ft. Lauderdale. We traveled for the weekend with our 2 small dogs so needed a pet friendly place to stay. I immediately liked Ed when I called and he said we were welcome at his resort. Once we arrived, we were offered a drink and he showed us two options. Both were decorated nicely and we chose the house that has 2 bedrooms and a sitting area off the deck. It was very comfortable and nice to have snack and drinks available. We enjoyed the hot tub, the pool and lounging in the lawn area with our pups. We walked to restuarants and bars all 3 days which was super convenient. The best feature of the resort is Ed! He made us feel welcome, gave us ideas of where to go and for sure, we will plan a return visit!!!

Room Tip: Rooms are great for traveling with others, having 2 bedrooms.

This is our third trip to Ed Lugo's and we are still impressed with the service and the overall resort. This time we tried the house across the street. We were very happy with the contemporary furnishings and great beds (and linen). The shower is spa-like and the kitchen would please a chef. We found the living areas very comfortable overall. The private back yard is great and would be enhanced with a more accommodating seating area. Otherwise, the privacy of enjoying morning coffee or an evening cocktail over looking very tropical trees, is unparalleled. If you are looking to relax and still be close to everything Ft. Lauderdale and Wilton Manors has to offer, I recommend Ed Lugo's over any luxury hotel in the area. We'll be back!

Room Tip: If you want total privacy, go for the house across the street. If you want to use the pool and spa m...

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon a few weeks ago and it was amazing! Ed Lugo himself was our host and took great care of us! He brought us mangos from the trees in the back yard; he and his staff took care of our place everyday and made the bed and refilled water/snacks. The service here was the best we have ever had! The resort itself is centrally located about 2 miles from the beach; it is also very close to some great restaurants! In addition: there is a gym near the resort that Ed gave us temporary day passes for, the famous Swap Shop (with a drive in movie theater) is only a few miles away as well! Inside the resort was gorgeous! We stayed in Villa 2406 and there were two bedrooms that were VERY comfortable, A beautiful shower, full kitchen, washer & dryer, and a living room worthy of a king! The back yard was also gorgeous with a covered hammock with beautiful draperies, gorgeous pool with a waterfall, mango and coconut trees, orchids, and Iguanas running around! My wife and I had the most amazing time here and could not have picked a better place for our Honeymoon; the pictures of this place cannot do it justice! We plan on coming back to this beautiful 5 Star Resort for our anniversary! Thank you so much Ed!!!!

Room Tip: The entire area is nice and quiet; perfect for a good intimate time together. It is very peaceful...

OMG! We found this resort by chance; the place is a virtual paradise! Our host, Ed couldn't be more friendly and gracious, both our rooms were clean, beautifully decorated and inviting. We couldn't believe the attention to detail, the pretty orchids and chocolates with robes on our beds, the pretty flower arrangements in our bedrooms and living room area, the plush towels in our bathroom, the Aveda products for personal use etc. Also loved the stocked snacks and various beverages stocked in the refrig. at no extra cost. We travelled to the area for a niece's graduation and family reunion. My sister stayed nearby on Fort. Lauderdale beach in a two bedroom suite on the strip with all the congestion and your typical commercial high-end hotel and she couldn't believe that I paid much less then she did for her suite and she was very impressed my suite and all the amenities available to me for much less!

My daughter and I felt very special and pampered by our host! The grounds are gorgeous with some of the most beautiful landscaping I have ever seen. Loved the pool area, especially at night with all the pretty lighting and the romantic area surrounding the hammock.

Lots of wonderful and interesting restaurants and shops in the area, would highly recommend this place to everyone, will definitely stay there again for future visits.

Stayed at the Ed Lugo Resort while attending a conference in Ft. Lauderdale. It is just a 10-minute drive from the Broward Conference Center.

The "resort" is really just a small group of ranch houses, which have been converted into hotel-style rooms. In the backyard of one of the houses is a cute pool (plenty big enough for relaxing, but not for serious swimming) and a hot tub. There are also some lounge chairs, set on a slightly unkempt lawn area.

The surprise at Ed Lugo is the quality of the furnishings and Ed's attentive, personal service. The bathroom towels, for example, are gorgeous, oversized and soft, embroidered extravagantly with the Ed Lugo logo. The bed sheets are crisp and comfortable, and the rooms come with free everything - premium TV, internet, water, soda, coffee, snacks.

Ed himself welcomes you to the resort, proffering a glass of wine and a big smile. He is clearly highly motivated to make sure you have a great experience, and, for me at least, it certainly worked!

If you don't mind being a few minutes' drive from the beaches and downtown Ft. Lauderdale, like luxury and service, but don't have a Ritz-Carlton budget, Ed Lugo is just the ticket.

Stayed at Ed Lugo Resort with 3 other friends and had a great experience. Ed and Lulu and the rest of the staff are so friendly and extremely accomadating. I would highly recommend this Ed Lugo Resort for anyone who wants to be close to the action in Wilton Manors. Free use of the Gym next to Alibi's was an added bonus. Very nice properties that are well maintained and clean. Will definitly be back in the near future. Thanks guys for a great time.
