“Barely Gold Crown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Good: 2 rooms for the price of 1 - A unit for adults and B unit for kidos
Bad: no washer/dryer in room. Down the hall, had to pay $1.25 to wash and $1.25 to dry.
Good: About 30 min drive to beaches. Recommend Hollywood Beach. Very clean. Nice brick boardwalk.
Bad: sitting on the balcony, the people beside us were smoking and their smoke carried over to our balcony...which made us NOT sit on the balcony.
Good: Nice, clean pools. Free lemonade from 11am to 1pm. Smoothies poolside only $2.00.
Bad: WiFi sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bad: The resort charges a $25 "resort fee" for the use of their ammenities. Other than the workout room, NOTHING IS FREE (or included in their "resort fee"). They have a ping pong table but you have to pay a quarter for the ball.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We’re sorry that we didn’t meet all of your expectations. The $25 resort fee you wrote about not only includes WiFi in the private rooms and the workout room, but also shuttle service within a 3-mile radius of the resort, in-room safes, resort activities, and discounts at participating restaurants in the area. We hope that our many resort amenities and great location will entice you to stay with us again so that we may have another chance to exceed all of your expectations.

First let me say if anyone says this place is not clean they are wrong. My wife is a clean freak and Lysol whipped the entire room and it was clean. Yes the rooms do need a makeover it's just a bit worn, but nothing is in bad shape or dirty. Service at this place was amazing, if you ask you shall receive, all staff very nice and very friendly. Remember if your rude asking for something you might get attitude back- all staff were excellent good job! Pool area is awesome kids loved it, only crappy part it rained a lot:(

This is a very nice place with clean and spacious rooms.
We stayed in an "A " unit which was a great size for the two of us.
It had a full kitchen & separate dining / living room and bedroom areas.
A large balcony with a table and chairs for four with access from the living room as well as the bedroom.

I think calling this is a "resort" is however a bit of a stretch. We were assigned a unit in the Flamingo complex which consists of two 7 story buildings and a pool. We were on the 6th floor facing the parking lot , but the higher floor gave us a beautiful view of the golf course and the surrounding area.

We checked in very late (11 pm -ish) an it was fast & efficient. Registration is at a the main building about a 5 minute ride from the Flamingo complex. Other buildings may be further or closer , but are all in the general area.

We were looking for a clean somewhat quiet place from which we could travel around the area and this is exactly what we got.
If you're looking for a luxury high end resort where your entertained every waking minute , this is NOT the place. We spent one day the pool & were by our selves most of the time. This probably would not be the case at the main building with the larger more expansive pool.

My only complaint was the 20 year old giant box rear projection TV in the living room. The picture quality was so horrible I could not stand to watch it . The bedroom tv was better but was somewhere around a 19" screen. This should be a priority on their upgrade list

Unit furnishings were somewhat dated and basic , but clean & functional and in good condition.

The Weston area is a very clean & beautiful City and we enjoyed our visit to the area and our stay at the Bonaventure . We had little contact with the staff, but when we did they were helpful and friendly.

Please note that this area seems to close up around 9pm, after that fast food drive ups with limited menu is the only thing available.

We only ate at Flanigans ( small Fl. chain similar to Fridays) and Scrubby's BBQ in the immediate area. Both were very good . Scrubby's is a bit basic but the food was excellent, friendly staff and an excellent value.

Best place to buy food / supplies is a 24 Hr Walmart near the Sawgrass Outlets.

Flamingo Gardens & the Riverwalk (Ft Lauderdale) are very nice and make a great place for a leisurely walk as do the local parks.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor for a better view get an A unit . they have a full kitchen and large balcony...

I stayed here with my husband for a little over a week.to attend a conference at the nearby Bonaventure Resort. This was perfect for us as we could easily walk across the parking lot to get to the Bonaventure. Even at the conference rate, with our RCI exchange this was less expensive plus we had multiple rooms to spread out and cooking facilities. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't have too much trouble avoiding the time-share pitch,

The units were clean, functional and comfortable although the decor is a little out dated and the furnishings a little tired. My only real complaint about the room was the very minimal kitchen furnishings. Just barely enough tools to make breakfast, Two pots and one pan, no pizza cutter and the few knives that there were were VERY dull. If you're planning to make anything beyond a simple meal bring your own kitchen supplies. And beware, "B" units don't even have a stove, just a double hot plate and no dishwasher.

Weston is basically a very quiet, upscale little suburb of Ft. .Lauderdale Unless you want to play golf all day, I can't imagine why you would want to come here on vacation. The pool is nice but the beach is over a half hour away. They have the nerve to charge a "Resort Fee" which is ridiculous since the place has nothing that any other Gold Crown resort I've stayed at has had, In fact, less than most. The gym is tiny, the pool is nice but small for the size of the resort, Very few activities, no on site restaurant, just a snack bar by the pool. Most of the rooms overlook parking lots and highways unless you get one of the few pool view units, then you have the noise of the pool to contend with. They do have a shuttle but we never used it and I doubt that many guests do since you really need a car if you're going to stay here. Over all, fine for our purposes but not a Gold Crown resort nor a place that I'd book for a vacation.

Room Tip: IBIS building is closest to the pool, try to get a room on an upper level or you'll be staring a...

Stayed at Vacation Village in the Osprey building during a recent trip down to Florida on May 19th. Lovely property - the pool is gorgeous, & we loved the hot tub. They offered activities like bingo daily around the pool area. Rooms were nice & clean. Would definitely stay here again!

We traveled to Vacation Village for school break the third week of April. After tearing ourselves away from the timeshare lady who insisted we needed to buy another week ( we had told her to absolutely not call us during our vacation ), we were directed to an off site location called "Egret." Skeptical at first because the building looks and is an apartment building, we found our 2 bedroom very spacious, very clean, and well equipped. It was quiet and safe. The next day we inquired at the desk why we were there and we were simply told that the main property could not accommodate our exchange through Interval. Interval doesn't tell you that but when all said and done, we were very happy with our place. We did use the main pool b/c the pool at our apartment building was small and offerd little shade and no umbrella tables. Tvs are all in need of updating.
