Well, this used to be one of our Favs. Live close by and we used to go every 2 or 3 weeks. I have had several birthday parties here and have invested heavily in their success. My husband announced last night he won't be back. This was our 3rd, not great experience.
We brought my son and his friend and knew after a long day of playing football they weren't long for the world, so wanted to get an order going. I asked the Waiter, who was very kind thru it all if I could go ahead and order a salad and then we'd let him know what we wanted for dinner. He said, it's better to order everything at once and said I'll give you a few minutes AND LEFT; puzzeling. He came back and we were still a bit stuck. I said, PLEASE bring us drinks, our salad and we will know in a few what we are having. He said, I am so sorry, I must get your complete order. After some back and forth, he said, I am so sorry, the Mgmt and Owner do not allow that on a Saturday night?! I was dumbfounded. They don't allow the order of an appetizer first, then dinner? No, they don't. This infuriated my husband who said, and rightfully so... It seems like every good restaurant in South Florida stops appreciating your business the minute they have some success. They start cutting corners on food quality and take your business for granted. So TRUE! No one seems to say after you have spent over $100, we really appreciate you coming. Managers/Owners/Chefs never go table to table anymore. This Mgr disappeared and left us at the hostess stand for 15 minutes at the beginning of the night with no apology that we just stood there.
Long story long, after asking to see the Mgr. the Waiter finally came back and said, I have good news: The Owner is willing to make an exception in this case. This made my husband seeth the whole night. To make matters worse, we were sat next to a huge table of women who yelled, and squeeled the whole night so loud, we could not talk at our table. Everyone around us glared at them. It was so loud it hurt my ears. It was like walking on thin ice for me all night. What a tense eve. I wish we had left after waiting so long at the hostess stand. This was a sign that no one is really checked in here anymore. Acquolina: You need to get back to basics. Really. Appreciate your patrons. Otherwise, you will be just like so many others who slowly disappear and once you do, come backs are very rare.
