“A wonderful Hampton experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

This was a very nice Hampton Inn -- a beautiful property with flowers and palm trees around it. Nice outdoor furniture to relax in, although most were occupied by smokers. The lobby is huge and very comfortable with beautiful furniture. There is fruited water upon arrival which is an upscale touch. Check-in was easy and the front desk staff was very friendly. The room was spotless and looked and smelled very fresh. The bathroom was HUGE which was nice for two people showering/getting ready at the same time. The housekeeping staff was also very friendly and eager to please. The location is very convenient to the airport -- there is not much to do within walking distance but it's a great home base for your stay in West Palm. We were on a college visit with our daughter to Palm Beach Atlantic University. This hotel was less than ten minutes from campus and would be a great place to stay for future visits. Free parking, too, which isn't the case with some of the hotels right in the center of West Palm.

Room Tip: We were right beside the elevator but didn't notice any noise from it. Our room was on the back...

First of all, the rate was $139/night plus tax. Compared to rooms we have been staying in recently, I found it a little much for the room. The room consisted of two doubles, which were comfortable, and a small area with chair and desk, etc. The room itself was not very clean. I could even see clipped toenails behind the bedside table. The toilet did not flush well and continued to run after flushing. The bathtub did not drain well while running the shower. I did not use the Wifi, but was told it worked well in the room. The AC was great, and the room was very cold, which was a big plus.
Breakfast was also a big disappointment. I don't know if the eggs were frozen, powdered, or what, but don't eat them! They are horrible and should not be served. I found it very difficult to find anything good to eat for breakfast except perhaps oatmeal and yogurt (low protein).
All the negatives being said, the staff was friendly and helpful. There is a nice, but pricey restaurant/pub belonging to Hilton that you can walk across the parking lot to reach. The hotel runs a free shuttle service to take you to City Walk.

Room Tip: Not sure what to say here. The hotel has potential, but needs to at least be cleaner and offer a be...

We stayed here for 3 nights. The young lady at the front desk was super friendly, bubbly and cute. She gave us a complimentary room upgrade with a kitchenette. Our room was spacious, extremely clean, comfortable and amazingly quiet.
We really enjoyed our stay here and will stay here again next winter.

I stayed at the Airport Central Palm Beach Hampton for 4 nights in February 2012 and did not rent a car. Hampton's shuttle delivered me to and from the airport as well as to City Place and to Clematis Street. The drivers were very friendly and helpful as well as the front desk staff. They called taxi's for me as needed and suggested great delivery food. The room was nice. Wireless internet worked fine for me although many of the TV channels were out one night.

I do not understand why this hotel is rated so high. I would give it two stars.

First of all, the rooms and decor is the opposite of modern. Not sure what it's technically called, but I'll call it old fashioned.

Secondly, the internet was not working during my stay. Called the front desk and they were no help.

Third, they have a shuttle, which is great, but it only runs to City Place once every hour. So I asked "Does this mean I only have one opportunity every hour to be picked up once I get to City Place?" to which she replied "yes." So, you might as well drive yourself.

Fourth, let's talk about breakfast. The "hot breakfast" offerings are your choice of two things they keep on the burners which changes every day, plus oatmeal and waffles. This would be fine, except that I like oatmeal and their oatmeal was disgusting. Not sure what exactly was wrong with it, but it didn't taste right. I wouldn't even swallow it; had to spit it out.

Every other Hampton I've stayed at had "to-go" sacks with a muffin, granola bar, apple, and bottle of water, but not this one.

Bathroom--shampoo sucks. Doesn't lather well. I used half the bottle and I swear my hair is still not clean. It's some generic brand and clearly not a priority to them.

Also, the people staying here are not the classiest of people.

And lastly, this morning I woke up to the phone in the room ringing. (I did not ask for a wake-up call.) It was some sort of standard recording you would hear if someone at Hampton put you on hold. A little weird, but whatever. Then it happened again. I called and asked about this and they had no idea what's causing it.

My perception is that the employees here do not care at all. I will never stay here again. I've stayed at other hotels in WPB, and I highly recommend the Marriott downtown.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the street.

I stayed at the Airport Central Palm Beach Hampton for one night on Febr 1, 2011 using Hilton HHonors points. Normally would have been about $169 + the usual taxes and fees, according to the Hilton website.
I arrived at PBI after a long day with two plane changes, totaling about 10 hours. Hampton's shuttle was prompt and the driver was pleasant and helpful. The front desk was typical Hampton, pleasant and efficient with my reservation, and suggested the Great American Grill at the Hilton Garden Inn next door, an excellent choice!
Had a nice comfortable bed, but come on, who really needs five pillows?

Wireless internet was worthless! I was getting download speeds of bout 24k/sec not much better than the old dial-up connections.

Breakfast was a disappointment. I try to follow a low-carb regime, but few choices here. Pastries, sugary cereals, etc. Few hot choices, no hot eggs or sausage. Just french toast fingers and some paper-thin bacon. You know, like on a Burger King bacon cheeseburger, where the bacon is about as thin as the paper they wrap the sandwich in. Comparing to other Hampton Inns, (my hotel of choice when on the road) pretty bleak. Hampton breakfasts are usually pretty good (see my review for Hampton Lake City, FL the next night)
All in all, the room itself was fine, the overall experience, not so much. My experience with Hampton Inns sets a high bar. This one didn't clear it.

Room Tip: Ask if the got their wi-fi fixed...
