When Hamburger Heaven closed it's original restaurant in Palm Beach about a year and a half ago, it was like a part of Palm Beach closed..I used to come here for lunch when I worked as a pharmaceutical rep and sit at the ol' fashion counter, or if I was with another rep, we'd sit in the booths. Burgers, fries, malteds- my favorite combo, and even their AMAZING coconut layer cake was a meal I would plan 2-3 days ahead and watch my diet, then BOMBS AWAY!! I was soooo saddened to hear it was closing, BUT the owner told her loyals she would soon open somewhere in the not to distant future...rumors were Palm Beach Gardens or West Palm somewhere..well, HAMBURGER HEAVEN IS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE!!!
My wife & I went see the new Star Trek 3D movie ( amaaazzzing- don't miss!!) in City Place, then decided on going to the Grease burger bar..BUT, it was packed due to a function being held there...45-60 min wait...no way..I don't wait an hour for a burger PLUS we were starving...someone heard me and suggested we go to Hamburger Heaven down the street...I said, "but it's been closed for a while now.."..the guy said, "no,it re-opened recently right down there on the left!"...so we walked down a few hundred yards, and there it was in it's new loaction- Hamburger Heaven! And what a location- right down close to the intercoastal, so my wife & I decided to sit outside on the patio area on a beautiful night with a slight breeze. Menus include various dinner options from soups & salads to steak & chicken. BUT, let's face it, just the venue name should tell you what the house specialty is- BURGERS, and plenty of them..count 'em- 14 different burgers all with different toppings and cheeses...I chose a burger with grilled onions, medium with cheddar cheese and onion rings. My wife had the cheesburger with American cheese medium well, w/fries. Aaron, our friendly waiter, took our order, and while we waited and watched cars go by on Flagler Drive and boats go by on the inter-coastal, Patti, the night mgr. came by to say hello..I think I told Aaron I was a senior contributor to Trip Advisor , and that got someone's attention. We had a nice talk about the restaurant's new location and opening. Food came out in about 15 minutes, and all was PERFECT! Our burgers both cooked just right, loved my grilled onions and it comes out with an assortment of condiments for your burger. Onion rings were crisp & tasty, not greasy. Fries were outstanding. While we ate, Daniel, another mgr., came out to see how everything was..it turns out he's from Peru, same as my wife- small world....we finished with one of their famous layer cakes, this time the coconut layer cake. It was just as I remembered it- big, fluffy soft & delicious with yummy icing on top. BTW, Burgers are 1/2 pound and they give plenty of fries or onion rings. Get the word out that Hamburger Heaven is back, "back in the West Palm Groove"
