The park is outstanding, with a dog park, water skiing, boating, walking, sports fields, but we went for the nature center. Went early and walked several trails. Saw a lot of woodpeckers, but the best birding, was at the feeder right behind the nature center. Painted buntings are virtually guaranteed, and you can get great pictures with them in the woods next to the feeder, so you are not shooting "feeder pictures". Also got collared doves, indigo buntings, blue jays, catbird, mockingbird, cardinal, woodpeckers...and a trio of raccoons. Went early. You can go straight to the feeder, spend an hour and head onto the next park.
