Raindancer
My husband took me to Raindancer after a very strong recommendation from his best friend. I must say that I didn’t want to break his heart but I was disappointed. After reading all the rave reviews, it was not what I expected. The décor was drab and old. We were seated immediately and as soon as we sat, I noticed a huge scoop of butter on the table! The bread, which we usually enjoy at the table right after we order our wine, was by the salad bar and it was cold. The salad bar which comes with the steak dinner (or any other dinner) was completely standard, could have been the old Sizzler. We were starving so it was fine. As an appetizer, we ordered the Baked scallops which were lightly breaded, hot and very good. It might have been the best part of the meal. I ordered the Teriyaki sirloin assuming it would be full of flavor – it said that it was marinated for 24 hours. I have to say that the teriyaki steak that we broil at home is much better. It came with standard steak fries, actually small ones. The choices were standard baked potato, sweet potato, rice or steak fries. My husband had the filet. It was ok. After the appetizer, the best part of the meal was the mocha mud pie for dessert which I haven’t had in years. The upsetting part is that the prices are similar to Mortons and Ruth Chris with nowhere near the quality or atmosphere. Outback would have been better! Sorry….Raindancer.
