I had made a reservation for a week to stay in their hotel. I was between places and so I had perhaps 30 boxes of stuff with me that I had piled into the room. At the end of the week, I was unfortunately automatically locked out of my room because my reservation had expired, despite the fact that they didn't call me to warn me of such. It was after their lobby hours so I tried to call someone on their afterhours phone, to no avail. Nobody answered for 30 minutes. I was left with no choice but to sleep in my vehicle. The next morning I spoke with the assistant manager (a young woman) and she insisted that it was my responsibility to renew my reservation. I countered that it was Studio 6's responsibility to inform me ahead of time that my reservation was about to expire because I have too many other things to worry about. Ultimately, I requested to not to be locked out again without first confirming that I was indeed leaving. She said that she couldn't do this for me. I've never been in a hotel in my life that won't take care of a customer's needs. I told her to please just take care of the problem. Well, the very next day I get locked out AGAIN!! This time the lobby was open and I demanded to speak with her. She REFUSED to come down to talk to me, and would only talk to me on the phone. I asked her how it was possible that I could be locked out yet again, not even 24 hours after I had asked her to fix the problem? She became very hostile and started patronizing my intelligence in how I should be maintaining my reservation. I've never been treated like this in my life and so I hung up the phone. She IMMEDIATELY shows up at the counter and informs me that I cannot treat her with such disrespect and that I must vacate the premises. I had 30 boxes of stuff in that room and now I had to find another hotel, rent another truck, move immediately, and all of this because I simply did not want to be automatically locked out of my room. I called corporate headquarters to complain and they
al manager returned three days later. When I finally spoke to him, I told him the story and he said he was going to speak to her about it and then get back to me. He never got back to me. So, here you are, this is unbelievable that I could be treated like this and I urge you also not to become a victim to their poor management and corporate disconcern.
