“Great location clean and spacious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2010

We have stayed on Hyatt regency before and always had a good experience, but we didn't know about Hyatt place and we were really pleased to be introduced to it. The hotel is in a great location, room is spacious, breakfast is included and was a delight with fresh fruit, porridge, lots of bread and starbucks coffee. The only negative was the shower, as water pressure was not very strong. Overall experience was good. I would recommend it!

Modern but simple hotel; very nice rooms. Easy to check in and out; good parking. Located in dowtown business district; would only stay there if you needed to go somewhere close by, otherwise, nothing around there. Most people only stay for 1 or 2 nights when in town for a special event. Buffet breakfast is poor. Cold food only. Everyone stands in line to use the one toaster which is needed for the cold bagels and english muffins. You can order fresh made egg dishes for $7.50 each. Ample good Starbucks coffee. A young lady is the manager and she is terrific. If there is any problem she takes care of it and does not hesitate to offer something complimentary. This was our first stay at a Hyatt Place. A cut above the other "cookie cutter" short stay hotels. The rooms are nice a size with flat screen tv's, desk work areas, free wi-fi. Self Parking $10/day.

Nice, newer hotel near downtown West Palm Beach. However, because of the staff's inability to fix an error they made on my bill, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and if you do stay there, make sure you check your bill very carefully before checking out.
We used the Hyatt as our wedding hotel in May 2010, bringing them a large amount of business. We checked out at 6 a.m. the morning after our wedding, tired and in a hurry to catch our flight for our honeymoon, so we did not pay close attention while checking out. A few weeks later, I saw on my credit card statement they had billed our stay as two separate charges, meaning I would need to use more than twice as many credit card miles to get reimbursed for the stay. When I called to rectify the situation, I was referred to the hotel's accountant and eventually the hotel's manager, neither of whom called me back, despite repeated calls over several weeks.
When I finally reached someone else who was willing to help, she eventually called me back and said there was nothing they could do because it was over two months since our stay, even though I first inquired about the charges well within two months.

Stayed for a night whilst taking a break from a long drive.
The checkin was efficient and the staff very nice. The $10 parking charge was a surprise but acceptable for the area. The 2 queen rooms were slightly smaller than other Hyatt Place hotels we have stayed in and only had 1 wash basin/sink. Could have benefited from on demand movies but had hbo.
Rooms were quieter than I thought due to the downtown location which was appreciated. Also 3 blocks to Cityplace for restaurants etc.
Would stay here again.

If being within walking distance of Cityplace is your priority, then this hotel is a good choice. It's functional and clean and the rooms are surpsingly spacious with a large sitting area, huge flat screen TV, a desk and a bar area with coffee maker and fridge. But it's only a great choice if the location is the key for you, and it only wins then because there isn't another hotel within walking distance of Cityplace, apart from a Marriott that's slightly further away and badly in need of revamping.

The problem is there's really nothing to like about this hotel except its location. The decor is drab (clean and new, but really dull), the rooms are noisy (mine had an air vent on one wall through which you could hear conversation and the TV in the room next door very loudly), the air conditioner sounded like a airplane taking off and the rooms lack basic amenities like plastic shower caps (no bath, although it's a good shower and a large cubicle) and enough coathangers. My bed was lumpy and uncomfortable on one side, but OK on the other, and you have to get out of bed to reach the light switch for the bedside lights. The elevators give a particularly poor impression - they look basic like service elevators. In fact, they are the service elevators - I faced a long wait and sharing with a housekeeping cart a couple of times when it was busy

Service was friendly and helpful, but occasionally haphazard probably because there is no real front desk - just a sort of all-in-one front desk/concierge/catering assistant so they get overstretched pretty easily. In summary, it's only a hotel I'd return to if the Cityplace proximity without a car was my priority again. There are infinitely nicer choices on the Island, and in Palm Beach Gardens nearby, for not much more money.

As part of an extended family group attending a wedding in West Palm Beach the bride's parents organised for the guests to stay here during the wedding.
We were unaware it was Sunfest at the time but that became a bonus in that we got to see some fantastic entertainment over the weekend.
Coming from Down Under to Florida is a task in itself but our two stays ( initially for 7 nights and later for one night) were both extremely relaxed.
When we first arrived our impressions were not great - (I think it might be the paint colour of the hallways on each floor - they seemed a little drab) - but the ambience of this hotel really grows on you the longer you stay there.
Our room was large and comfortable and very well appointed.
The self service breakfast each morning was more than adequate.
We were able to walk to just about evrything.
All the staff from the parking valet to the room service staff were courteous and helpful.
When we come back next time we will definitely be staying here again.
