I have family in the area, and will have the occasion to be in your City often. But, I have to tell you about the bad experience I had last week at the Comfort Inn, 5642 Oakley Blvd, Wesley Chapel, 33544.
The room was adequate at best. The TV was old with fading picture and mono sound on ESPN. The bathrooms are boarderline clean, but the service I received was the worst.
Early my first morning, I had a problem with my toilet. I asked the clerk to take care of it, advising that it just needed to be plunged. Well, the clerk took my advice and got the plunger, but instead of doing what I thought he would do, he handed it to me. I of course thought it was a joke, but I needed the toilet un-stopped. I plunged the toilet and handed the plunger back to the clerk who took it from me and then proceeded to handle the food at the breakfast bar.
I asked the clerk to have the manager call me about this incident, but the manager would not. I filed a complaint with Choice Hotels, but to my dismay they sided with the hotel. All I wanted was to inform management of the poor service, but they just processed me by crediting my account a mere $30.00 for my trouble. I am convinced that the owner was never made aware of my situation.
I have also notified the State's Hotel Regulatory Agency.
Surely a visit to the Hotel to see for your self the conditions of the rooms and the operating procedures of the breakfast bar is warranted. If you have the same opinion as me, then perhaps some changes could be made. Cities get bad repurtations and loose revenue with absentee or problem franchisees like this one.
For now, of course, I will be staying elsewhere when I visit (most likely not in Wesley Chapel). And, for your information, my future plumbing services will be performed at industry rates with a minimum 1 hour charge of $55 (humor added for my sake).
