“Perfect little polished gem of a hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Imagine being just steps to the ocean across a quiet street on your own private path, staying in a room that is lovely and unique and has a true sense of place, with a view of an elegant pool where you can relax while watching arguably the area's finest French restaurant come to life. And you can end your day with a night cap at their tapas music bar located above the restaurant. The rooms are spotless and the staff is terrific. It's a perfect little polished gem of a hotel. My family and I had so much fun we've already made our reservations for next year.

Nicely kept and maintained hotel. Just a mile away from the main strip in Vero Beach. Great staff and nicely appointed rooms. Havana Bar dinner was excellent. The hotel is about a quarter mile walk to the beach. Tyler did a great job of making us feel at home. Unfortunately the main restaurant was closed due to the off season.

Room Tip: Had a Queen bed that with a balcony that overlooked the pool. You cant see much from any of the view...

We have been visiting Vero Beach for 30+ years. First time at CC. We were disappointed at first, because It is south of the main area of Vero Beach. But once inside, it is a small, charming, quiet, friendly boutique hotel. Our room was very comfortable, luxurious, and quiet. We could walk quickly to a beautiful beach. Really nice pool. The restaurant has a great reputation. A bit pricey but worth it.

Room Tip: Ask for a second floor, end of hallway room.

The good:

The location across a quiet street from the beach is ideal. The grounds are lovely. We appreciated that the floor in our room was tile, and not carpet.

The not-so-good:

The staff was brisk and unwelcoming, and I'm talking about the young blond woman. I was never greeted by the manager (perhaps the owner?) - the older woman - even in passing. I was never thanked for a weeklong stay - it was more like they were doing my family a favor.

The pool was closed for a day for the addition of chemicals, but because we entered the pool through our room instead of via the main gate, we did not see the sign saying that the pool was closed. So my young children got a nice big dose of chemicals before the manager noticed the children and asked them to get out of the pool. This lapse in safety is unforgivable

The continental breakfast needs improvement or at least some variation for those of us that stayed many days.

The pool area had leftover streamers still stapled to the building from a previous event. They remained the entire week of our stay.

Finally, the room needed a good scrub top to bottom. There was mold on the porch, and in the bathroom. The trash can lever was broken. The walls were scuffed, which was surprising to see in the slow season. It's not hard to touch up a room. The mats outside the doors were filthy.

With some changes and better management, this could be a great little hotel. The owner needs to walk through the place with the eyes of a guest.

This is a lovely little place with a friendly vibe. We stayed for three nights while our son was playing in a nearby baseball tournament, and we really enjoyed it. The room was comfortable and had personality. Even though the hotel was sold out, our room felt very private and we hardly saw anyone else. The beach is close--just across the street, down a path. We really enjoyed the Havana Nights Piano Bar, and we ate there twice--very old Florida feel to it. The food was quite good, although a bit pricey. The complimentary breakfast is a nice touch, even though the selections are pretty slim--a few cereals, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, a few pieces of fruit, orange or grapefruit juice (orange was in individual bottles), some slices of meat and cheese, croissants, and made-to-order waffles. We appreciated having this available. We'll definitely stay again if we're ever in the area.

It was a girl's reunion weekend and we could not have been more pleased! Place is beautiful and it was nice that, since it was a small hotel, we received very personal service. Always asking if there was anything we needed or how we are doing. Women notice little things...like towels on every chair by the pool. (not sure what kind of fabric softener they used, but trust me, we noticed that fresh smell). A large urn of cold lemon water also by the pool.
And NO bugs? Don't know what they did with them, but there was not a bug in sight! And this was FLORIDA.
Be sure to ask for beach chairs and umbrella before you head out to the beach. The sand is a bit too hot to sit on in August.
Since there was 4 of us, we had an adjoining room with the most comfortable beds.
One of our rooms had a table and chairs and a kitchenette. Perfect for morning coffee before we headed down for the complimentary breakfast. Nice spread for breakfast! Not just bagels and toast, but homemade waffles with toppings among other things.
And thank you again for the late night ice cream delivery!!

Very cute hotel located in the "South Beach" area, across from the ocean. We stayed during the "off" season and there appeared to be only 3 rooms occupied so it was very quiet. We had a nice dinner in the piano bar on the property.
We were shown to our room by the person on duty and he was very helpful and attentive. The room was great and the AC top notch - didn't cycle on and off like cheaper units.
The fire alarm at midnight was a surprise and was, as it turned out, a false alarm. The fire department came promptly. I was impressed that they went straight to the alarm box and silenced it. Turns out this happened a week or so ago, too. After looking around the firemen left and we managed to get back to sleep.
Our stay would have been even nicer if we had received a follow up with a simple apology. We did not.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay. We are so happy that you enjoyed your time here other than the inconvenience of the fire alarm (thank goodness just a false alarm) in which we offer you our sincere apologies. Our hotel staff made every effort to speak to all of our guests and we regret that we missed you to offer you a personal apology. We hope you will reconsider future stays here at The Caribbean Court and again thank you! Best regards.
