Read several reviews about the Lemon Tree, decided to try it while staying in the area for a weekend getaway. Arrived and was seated immediately, no waiting, but then waited about 10 minutes before a waitress came and took our order. Restaurant wasn't overly busy, there were open tables available. Ordered food, basic breakfast, got cold, lumpy grits and burnt toast. My wife ordered a croissant, she said it was VERY GREASY, could only eat about half of it. Later that evening while walking and looking at the different local shops, decided to get dessert. Remembered seeing "homemade lemon pie" on the posted menu outside the restaurant, stopped in to get 2 pieces togo. Greeted at the door by the host who asked for our reservation, we stated that we didn't have one and were not looking to eat dinner, just wanted to order dessert togo. Host then stated " we are not a dessert place, try the shop "Cravings" next door."
VERY RUDE!!! Can live with a so so breakfast, but rudeness was uncalled for.

The Lemon Tree has never offered lemon pie for dessert. Maybe we should.

We offer only 2 desserts in addition to the complimentary sorbet for the convenience of our customers who have enjoyed lunch or dinner. Our neighbor Cravings does a wonderful job with desserts. We always recommend them to people who just want a dessert and perhaps a cup of coffee or espresso. Sorry for the confusion.
I am sorry to hear you were unsatisfied with our your breakfast. I have never had a complaint abour the croissants---especially being very greasy. Our servers usually are very prompt. Please don't hesitate to send anything back if you are not satisfied.
Please try us again.
