My wife and I stayed here for four nights in the motel type units. We had booked the room due to the reviews, it being on the beach, and the affordability. It had a very family type feel with most of the guests being an older crowd or families with young children. The grounds were well kept.
As I said we stayed in a motel type unit, which was on the small side. It had a queen size bed, with minimal room around it to walk. There was a closet type area to hang clothes and put a suitcase. The bathroom was your basic bathroom. My wife noticed that there was a slight odor to the room, which I did not smell until we turned off the AC and it became noticeable. It wasn't a bad odor nor a pleasant odor, but there was some sort of odor going on, which for me went away when the AC was on and wasn't really bothersome.
The tv worked and had good reception and included many channels including the movieplex channel. The internet connection was very poor but worked better late night to early mornings. We only used it primarily to find things to do and restaurant reviews in the area.
The cleaning service was decent as our room was serviced each day. The only issue i had was that staying four days, you would think they would replenish the soap/shampoo at some point. It wasn't a big deal as I went to the office and they provided me with additional soap.
The pool was very nice as it was heated and was salt water. They provide lounge chairs around the pool as well as floatation devices.
Additionally in the back there was areas to sit that are covered by the building, open to the sun, or also tables that were covered. There is a two person swing set and place to bbq as well as some type of game (shuffle board?). Also in the back there was a clothesline to hang wet towels and a walkway to the beach.
The beach was nice and clean. There were many people fishing. The hotel also offered a number of beach chairs and umbrellas to bring down to the beach.
The staff was always very nice and friendly. One of the ladies might not have known too much about the area as I had asked if there was anyplace that my wife and I could get ice cream and walk the beach? And she had said that the 7-eleven was all she knew of. We ventured north just after the golf-course to find two ice cream shops on the beach, which was not more than 5-7 minutes away.
Overall it was a very nice place to stay. They obviously have larger nicer rooms and we were staying in the efficiency units. While we were there the other guests seemed happy and to be enjoying their time. Everyone was very friendly. It was also very quiet so a good night sleep was easy. The heated pool was a big plus because the ocean was on the cool side and it was windy when we stayed. The views in the back beautiful. I envied the guests to stayed in the rooms with with the view of the beach because you could tell the views of the sunrise in the morning would have been priceless. I suppose I could have got off my lazy butt and walked to the beach to watch this as well as any guests could have. Will definitely stay here again if ever in Vero Beach.
