“Affordable and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

I was pleased with our decision to stay at the Aquarius last week. The room was large with a complete kitchen. The pool was warm and the beach was wide and not too busy. A basket of free snacks was on the table. If you're looking for excitement, this is not your kind of place. At 48 I was by far the youngest there, but we enjoyed the slow and friendly pace. It is perhaps a little older and could use some updates - rust on the bathtub, for example - but then it wouldn't be as affordable.

Spent two nights, a family of 4 adults, at this small beach front motel with resort features. We found personal attention unlike any we have experienced in many years. The 2 br unit was clean and well furnished as were the grounds. The beach was very good and nice to view from the grounds. I would recommend it if you would like a quiet stay. It might not be the best choice for active young children. It seems to have a lot of long term repeat guest. I may well become one of them. The only Con would be the tight parking as it is somewhat difficult to back when the lot is near capacity.

Room Tip: If ocean view from your room is important, the choice is obvious. If not available or beyond your b...

My girlfriend and I needed a new place to stay for our annual trip to FL this year - and chose the Aquarius. The motel is older but very well kept up and very clean. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The beach is close and secluded. We stayed in a second floor efficiency with a balcony that overlooked the beach and ocean (which is a prerequisite of ours). How great it was to sit there and watch and hear the ocean - not to mention the sunrises. It was heaven!!! We also were above a deck area where other guests gathered and loudly partied and smoked cigars and cigarettes - the smell of which was nauseating. We landed up having to close our window and balcony door to keep the smell from drifting in. It also would have been a nice consideration if we had been told about the "no see um" bugs down there - warned to bring bug repellent. By the time I left I had several areas of annoying itchy bites - and even after coming home I've kept breaking out in itchy rashes caused by these bugs that have resulted in miserable sleepless nights. (There are non-itching projects to help). I'm home 4 days now and finally think the worse is over. This, of course, is not the manager's fault - but a warning would have been nice at check in to prepare us. Nevertheless it is a very nice and calming place worthy of someone looking for peace and quiet.

Room Tip: Rooms with a balcony overlooking the beach are wonderful - but also overlook the deck and "part...

Daytona Beach is crowded and noisy and crowded!! This hotel was located in a quiet residential neighborhood away from the main strip. We had a oceanfront efficiency that was perfect for us. It was not ultra modern but comfortable. The beach was just steps away and many times we were the only ones on there. The only negative thing is that there is no elevator, however it is only a two story building. The office staff was very nice. This will now be our "go-to" place when we head to the east coast :)

My requirements for this year's vacation were: an oceanfront room with a balcony, and a kitchen I could actually cook in. The Aquarius provided this at a great price, and the staff was SO friendly! As others have said, this is an "older-style" resort -- but very clean, and had everything that we needed for our family of two adults and two teenagers. We loved that they had a few beach chairs you could borrow for the day, as well as beach towels to loan ... and they even had a couple shelves of books that you could borrow from while there!

Most favorite place in Vero Beach -- it is right on the beach with a boardwalk path over the short dune to it, shuffleboard court like old time Florida, covered tables overlooking the ocean with a barbeque, a lovely little pool, comfortable rooms (great beds!) and kitchens with full fridge, 4 burner stove, microwave and all pots, pans, dishes, etc., that you need to cook! I go to Florida to visit my elderly mother who lives at an assisted living (and no longer likes to eat out) so I love being able to cook for her and myself! There are plenty of grocery stores over the bridge on mainland Vero Beach that offer fresh produce, meat and fish -- and wine! there are a few restaurants in walking distance ( including a pizza place) and a few more less than a 5 minute drive just north of the hotel (and right on the beach!) just in case you don't want to cook in every night.
The management have to be some of the nicest people in the world - very helpful -- coffee on in the office in the morning and local newspaper was at my door on weekdays. The office also has a nice little library for those that forgot their own book -

We love this place. We have stayed here a couple of times and will definitely be back. The rooms are clean and well equipped. The grounds are well kept and the pool is fabulous. We brought our two young children and they had a wonderful time. This is a great value so close to the beach

Room Tip: Room 120 is a two bedroom and is great for families with kids- the air conditioner in the bedroom is...
