A celebratory dinner at Montes turned out to be a major disappointment for all my guests. The arrogance and presumptuousness of the wait staff was a real mood killer. Our waiter insisted, against my wishes, that he recommend a wine “within your budget.” At no time did I ask for his recommendations and never indicated a budget. Frankly, all members of the party were offended by comments and suggestions. In short, you can get better food, service, and atmosphere nearly anywhere else.
