I have been to the Ocean Grille every time I get the opportunity to get to Vero Beach, usually three or four times per year and I love it!

The service is excellent, the food is good and plentiful and the view is superb. You might also want to check out the fine array of "Highway Man " paintings that are all the rage these days.

This is the type of establishment where you will still find gentlemen in suits and ties for dinner and women well dressed, although not everyone ascribes to this standard. I would describe it as business casual.

This is not nouvelle cuisine and if you are expecting this you will be disappointed. This is the type of place that years ago would would have been a very special night out for mom and dad or for a special family event. This is exactly the reason that I love it so!

You will find many families today that still love this type of place. I know that I do!

When we visit Vero Beach, we always dine at the Ocean Grill...the food is excellent, the service prompt and courteous. The view is wonderful of the ocean from most of the seating. Highly recommend, especially for the seafood.

We stayed at the Driftwood in October. First night ate at Waldo's but wanted something special for a 50th birthday celebratory meal. Found Ocean Grill by accident as we prowled the beach during the day. In daylight, from the beach, it looked like a run down railway carriage! However, at night, all lit up, it was gorgeous and we had a fantastic meal. Prices are very good if you are from the UK as the exchange rate was good.

As usual in USA we took large box of food home to have for lunch the following day!

We loved it so much, we went back again the following night, and I had lobster tails again!

I agree with the reviewer who recommended this restaurant for a drink or dessert, only. It has a unique, romantic atmosphere and the best view of the ocean in Vero Beach. However, the food is for the most part, mediocre, while the prices are high, even for Vero Beach. There are a few exceptions, however, such as the onion rings and the creamed spinach, both of which I recommend. I have had good stone crabs there, as well. Every item is sold a la carte and if you intend to have salad, side dish and dessert with your meal, you are easily looking at $60 pp. or more. It is one of those kind of places where the waitstaff encourages you to order more (such as "Do you want blue cheese on your salad?") and never mentions that with each item you will incur additional charges. I don't mind high-priced restaurants, but I do expect the food and service to be commensurate with the prices, which I do not believe to be the case at the Ocean Grille.
The Ocean Grille does serve an excellent after dinner drink called a "Hummer", which is delicious and memorable. It is an ice cream drink and I'm usually not a fan of those, but this drink is really special and I recommend that, as well.
