went to this reaturant several times during our trip...the food is excellent, the service great and the location and history it has is impressive...this is a casual setting with an upscale flare...old dark wood and rustic iron thru out with a collection of antique pictures and item on the walls...cannot reccommend any one thing since we enjoyed all we had, most items are made on the premises including salad drssings..will return

Lunch and dinner available. Great ambiance inside, rustic and unusually decorated. Just what you'd expect for an older, beachside lodge. View of the ocean, of course. Lunch entrees from around $12-15, dinner around $20-30. We went for lunch. Blue crab soup was just okay. Bacon spinach salad with warm dressing was absolutely delicious. Also very yummy was the fried snapper and breaded crab claws. Delicious cornbread served with the meal. Many locals dining here, dressed well (at the least, dressy casual). Would definitely eat here again.

If you plan to visit a well-known seafood restaurant located right on the beach in a tourist area, what do you expect?

If you expect decent food at slightly higher prices, you'll enjoy the Ocean Grill just fine. It's not the best seafood but it's not bad either. The location is great with almost every table able to view the ocean. Service is good.

We ate there twice. The fried seafood platter was average. The softshell crab was a special offering and was good. The second time, we both had the shrimp cocktail and lettuce wedge salad and no entree. We got his idea from talking with a regular patron while sitting at the bar. The shrimp cocktail included only four shrimp but they were huge. The combination was good and left room for dessert. I saw others having a salad and "peel-n-eat" shrimp with no entree. So, feel free to order just what you want.

Set your expectations as I described in the first paragraphs and you'll enjoy it. For fine dining, go somewhere else.

I have been to the Ocean Grille every time I get the opportunity to get to Vero Beach, usually three or four times per year and I love it!

The service is excellent, the food is good and plentiful and the view is superb. You might also want to check out the fine array of "Highway Man " paintings that are all the rage these days.

This is the type of establishment where you will still find gentlemen in suits and ties for dinner and women well dressed, although not everyone ascribes to this standard. I would describe it as business casual.

This is not nouvelle cuisine and if you are expecting this you will be disappointed. This is the type of place that years ago would would have been a very special night out for mom and dad or for a special family event. This is exactly the reason that I love it so!

You will find many families today that still love this type of place. I know that I do!
